Disgraced Former Penn State DC Jerry Sandusky (convicted child molester)

"This is the very definition of corruption ? the ?impairment of integrity, virtue, or moral principle : depravity.? And for that, the solution, it seems, must be to excise that corruption from the body of the university and reestablish the purpose and virtue of the institution. End the football program. Let the recruits go elsewhere. Level the stadium or better yet, let it decay and crumble and be an eyesore, a fitting metaphor for the program that was suffused with moral rot. "

McQueary spoke of the schools sterling NCAA record with regards to violations in the following recruiting letter:

7ch1tc

Amazingly, I just lost even more respect for McQueary. I didn't think that was possible.

I don't think it's going to be the scandal that does him in. IMHO, he's already shown that knowing about some guy he knows real well abusing little boys doesn't bother him too much.

I think the fact that he won't be coming to the school on game days, interacting with the kids, and being the face of the university anymore will be what does him in.
Like I said, the consequences. That which you mentioned plus no longer being thought of as an icon, the fall from grace and the loss of credibility.

There's not many people I care to listen to on ESPN anymore. Jay Bilas is one of the few I can stand, he is on SC speaking the truth right now.

Stephen A. Smith has also made some very forceful statements about culpability, moral responsibility and terminating JoePa immediately. I've liked his lack of equivocation.

In their minds they can continue to send this stuff as they are not in violation of the NCAA at this point. Now, having an ex-coaches and AD arrested requires a whole different letter.

The fact that McQueary signed that letter touting PSU's alleged pristine nature, all the while knowing what he knew, may not violate an NCAA rule or break a law but it tells me all I need to know about him. He's pathetic.

As far as I'm concerned the real question is...can we trade Penn State for Pitt & a school to be named later?

I would actually be all for this. I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion on how Penn State's problems affect the B1G. Obviously they will stay, but their actions and inactions affect all of our institutions, or at least their reputations.

Speaking of which somebody needs to set up a "Joe Paterno Death Watch" vBet.

I vote for a 50/50 bet: JoePa vs. Lindsay Lohan.

I've read worse, but I will not repeat them here. What's true will come out if the old man doesn't die first.

And a few pages back, the press is starting to cross check names involved in the charity. It is not beyond belief that child predators would flock together. We've seen this to be the case in the past...

Aren't the Paternos heavily involved in Special Olympics? I have to imagine the investigators will be looking at everything with all the players now.

Grahamm Spainer is now resigning or is going to be forced out, per ESPN.

Well, forget the guy is a weasely POS for a minute. The fact is that at ANY institution, Penn State, OSU, wherever, when the President tells the school's football coach that he needs to retire, the coach says go fuck yourself, and the President then has absolutely no recourse or authority to do anything, then the President should be shitcanned on the spot immediately anyway. You're the lead authority at an institute of higher education, you had better have more authority than the goddamned football coach, whoever it is.

I never thought I'd say this but I'm starting to come around to the proposition that Penn State forfeit the Nebraska game. Then remove Joe Pa before the two away games but go ahead & play them both.

Oh and there are some lovely gems on BWI McAndrews...

The liberal media hates Joe because of his conservative views. This was just an excuse to go after him and Scott.

Yeah that's it moron, the real problem is the liberal conspiracy.

Right. You've got a GA of yours leveling some very harsh accusations against another one of your asst. coaches. Both are employees of yours. You just throw your hands up in the air and tell him to go talk to the AD? Bull[Mark May]. You need to get to the bottom of it and find out exactly what happened or who if lying. Either way, it's the last day on the job for one of the two. If the accusations turn out to be true, you call the cops.

The problem with this argument is that Sandusky had already admitted to showering with a child in 1998.

Is it possible that getting Spanier gone was a check on the to-do list that they have to complete before they could fire Joe?

Spanier was nothing but a figurehead, so since he couldn't do shit and obviously had no power...it's possible.
