Disgraced Former Penn State DC Jerry Sandusky (convicted child molester)

Big fucking deal if he reported it to Curley...this isnt an NCAA violation...you tell the police and have an investigation...you tell curley if you want it to go away....but he was raping kids

Bingo.

There are a few steps.

#1 Report it to the university higher ups IMMEDIATELY.

#2 The moment the university doesn't take it to the authorities, you do. Period.

NCAA's order of severity in "breaking the rules":

3. Sexual abuse
2. Paying for players' prostitutes
1. Using memoribilia to get tattoos

Yeah, that makes sense. Nothing seems out of whack here.

I have no idea who knew what obviously...but if there's one thing that to me actually buries the Penn State higher ups (whoever knew something at the time), it's the fact that Sandusky actually was the top choice for the Virginia coaching job in 2001, and turned it down. Now presumably he turned it down because he didn't want the truth to eventually come out, and presumably Virginia did their due diligence at the time...which means no one said a word about any of it then. Even if it was just one allegation before 2002, and the 2002 thing is what really blew it all up, the fact that he was in line for a head gig at a FBS school at all means the whole thing was swpt under the rug.

So basically;

GA: "Hey Joe I just saw Sandusky fucking a 10 year old boy in the shower. I didn't know what to do so I'm telling you."

Joe: "Ok, thanks for letting me know, I'll tell the AD tomorrow."

In what universe is this even remotely sane?

How does McQueary accept an assistant coaching job at PSU after having witnessed the Sandusky shower incident with the 10 year old boy in March 2002 as a grad assistant with no subsequent consequences to Sandusky? Good grief.

You're right. Any way you slice it there is going to be hell to pay for not only Curley, but also JoePa and MacQueary. The veil of secrecy is going to come down.

PSU needs to send the entire staff packing at the end of the season. That is the only way, from a PR standpoint, that they can put this mess behind them.

On another note, I thought that Jerry Sandusky book was photoshopped. He really titled his book "Touched." That is unreal.

Joe Pa, if there was ever any doubt, is gone after this season.

I would imagine what ever rumors were out there about this being the last year will come true....this gives their BOT's the leverage to finally say its over................I was thinking about Joe Pa's legacy being tarnished over this and I think it will when this is all said and done

Holy hell, I mention to my mom that JoePa isn't looking so squeaky clean in all this, and the first thing she says? "Kinda like Tressel, huh?" :smash: :smash: :smash:

I swear, she doesn't understand a damn thing about either situation. She's driven me nuts since January with all of her preaching and not understanding a thing about this stuff.

NCAA violations =/= child molestation. It's pretty simple, mom. Reading the article that LightningRod posted above, it sounds like JoePa's testimony is key to the perjury and other charges against the admin officials, and that he's been a cooperative witness. IMO, that doesn't make up for not going to the police in 2002 when he apparently learned of part of this behavior. It even sounds like Graham Spanier knew about some of the allegations, although not the whole story, as known by Curly and the other admin official, who are painted as covering this up.

The fact that the DA and Grand Jury decided to go after Curley and Schultz has made this a real nightmare for PSU. Curley and Schultz will try to prove their innocence by claiming the information that JoePa and McQueary provided them was vague and not really evidence of a crime. Their defense team will try to impeach the stories that JoePa and McQueary tell.

The fact that the PSU president has decided to stand by Curley and Schultz means that the for the time being you will have the PSU administration on one side and the coaching staff on the other.

It will be interesting to see what the PSU BoT does with this.
