Jerry Sandusky trial: Defense tries to discredit Mike McQueary

Two witnesses for the defense in the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse trial were presented as an apparent attempt to attack the credibility of assistant coach Mike McQueary.
McQueary's eyewitness account of what he saw between Sandusky and a boy in a shower in 2001 is the basis for charges against Sandusky in the case known as alleged Victim 2.

Dr. Jonathan Dranov, a McQueary family friend who encouraged McQueary to report what he'd seen to his boss, Joe Paterno, testified and said that McQueary told him he saw a young boy peering from the shower and an arm pull him back.McQueary was too distraught to get into details, Dranov said, but told him he heard "sex sounds," which is consistent with McQueary's testimony.
When he took the stand for the prosecution last week, McQueary denied saying anything about seeing an arm pull the boy away. He was much more graphic, saying he saw Sandusky behind the boy in a sexual position, up against the wall.
McQueary had also denied taking part in Second Mile golf tournament fundraisers following what he'd seen.
Today, Henry Lash presented a letter thanking McQueary for participating in a June 2003 tournament, a photograph Lash said shows him participating in the 2003 tournament, and another photograph Lash said was of him participating in June 2001.
The June 2001 tournament would have been about four months after he made the report to Penn State officials about the alleged incident in the locker room showers.
Prosecutors pointed out the photos were undated, and the letter does not verify that he actually attended the event.

I don't see any way he can be found innocent, but a hung jury sure wouldn't surprise me. :(

I can't see how any juror could not convict. if there are really one or two holdouts, their names will come to light, and quite frankly, I don't see that ending well for them. It's not like this is some questionable case. The defense has been a dumpster fire and the evidence is pretty overwhelming. To vote to acquit would require a special kind of ignorance you don't see often.

I think there are some counts that are definite...there could be some wrangling about the specific count regarding the mom who bragged about money, or of the counts where the victims didn't testify, though. In any event, I don't see acquittal as an option.
