Pennlive update: 12:20 p.m.: There's a possibility that Jerry Sandusky's wife, Dottie, will testify this afternoon. The defense said that a "family member" is expected. Court resumes at 12:50.

Oh, to be the prosecutor that gets to do that cross...

How could any halfway decent recruit ever sign with State Penn again?

They'll get recruits: 100K stadium, television exposure and a proven pathway to the NFL. That's all that matters to a large percentage of top recruits, and those kids won't look at anything outside of the football program and how it fits into their plans to make the pros.

Yes, but if you're getting offers from other top-end programs, why would you put yourself in that cesspool? The hell you'd catch from your friends alone wouldn't be worth the ride.

I think it'll hurt them with one group of kids while a second won't care about anything beyond football. What the relative size of those two groups are, I won't venture a guess. Others might say, less competition so I can start my freshman year and be in the nfl after three.

I can see your point, that--through a smaller recruiting pool--there will be some negative effect. I just don't see their recruiting classes ending up in the IU-Minny level though.
