I can agree with some of you on this one... Didn't play an outstanding game, but he has been the leader of the Colts for years now, and he deserves a super bowl.

Make no doubt about it, Manning deserved that Super Bowl victory as much as anyone ever has. He played well in very unfavorable conditions, and managed the game well enough for his team to win, against a great defense. Not only that, but he led his team to victory against New England 2 weeks before, to get himself there. He was not just lucky to be on a good team to get him a ring, he made the team and got them there. Anyone who argues differently is a fool.

I believe QB's should be valued for their passing efficiency rating and their winning percentage. Just throwing for a lot af yards doesn't make a great QB. Manning has been very solid in both of those categories for years.

Agreed. Sometimes quarterbacks play great games, but don't win the super bowl due to mistakes of other teammates. Had Carney not kicked the kickoff out of bounds, NE might have not been in position to kick the game winning field goal against Carolina, despite Delhomme's great efforts to set his team up for victory. Kelly has also been mentioned as another QB who got screwed out of a SB victory.

They are a couple of guys who may have played well enough to win a Super Bowl, as there have been many, but it in no way takes away from those who actually have.
