Detroit Red Wings (Official Thread)

Hope the overtimes don't get Hiller hot as he looked good in them.

Well once they pushed him about a foot out of the goal crease.

The Wings do what they always do when they find a way to lose a game that they played much better than the other team.

They were content with taking shots from the blue line and the boards instead of getting down deep inside and shooting from 10 feet on in (which is where all 3 goals came from).....Hiller is pretty good, but the Wings helped him out by taking really hard angle or low percentage shots from the 1st OT on.....

Rafalski and Draper are both out tonight. Not good.

At the risk of praising the ball-less wonders.....

This was a game that Chicago could have stolen very easily. Khabibulin was making saves he hasn't made in years and the Wings weren't putting anything home on their odd man chances (it was like 8 to 1 in odd man chances between the teams at one point).

detroit had been beaten on by Anaheim for two weeks straight and the bruises are still new in some cases (Rafalski) so there was a chance that Detroit could be tired/flat and Chicago could steal one.

When it was 2-2 I was thinking exactly that but then Sammy struck and the Hawks came unraveled a bit in the 3rd.

Now if the limped-dicked pieces of donkey turds can keep it going, they might win game 2

It's over.

Blow this team up. Rafalski is clearly on the downside. Stuart is lazy with the puck and turning it over all the time.

It shouldn't even be considers to resign Marian Hossa.

Tomas Holmstrom is done as is Draper and Maltby. It takes losing the Cup in such a fashion to get these guys out.

Bring up the kids. It's time. The era of Yzerman is finally over.

Nah, it's because Shoe Girl went to Vegas.

that likely has something to do with it.

I also think this team has completely tuned out the leadership, namely Babcock and Lidstrom.

Tuning out coaches happens all the time, it can be corrected by changing the players or the coach and I can tell you which one is more likely to happen.

But for the players to have tuned out Lidstrom is pathetic.

What I want to see happen:

No Hossa, NO Hudler and sure as hell no Rafalski if he'll waive his NTC. I'd also like Stuart to waive his NTC as well but he won't.

What will happen?

They'll give [strike]Joe Thornton[/strike] Hossa $7 million a year, still get rid of Hudler and Sammy, keep an obviously declining Rafalski and a completely vacant entity in Stuart.

God (and I can't believe I'm saying this) I hope Lilja comes back.
