Detroit Red Wings (Official Thread)

Yeah... that didn't work out so well. And, I watched the game against Columbus on Friday - so I'll take the blame for that one. :tongue2:

A lot of the problems on defense are compounded by less than average goaltending by Ozzie.

They aren't going to go anywhere unless they tighten up.

Well I'd say the tone has been set for the playoffs now. Detroit comes a hell of a lot closer to winning in SJS than SJS does to winning in Detroit.

Given their (SJS) past playoff chokes I'm pretty sure the little voices in the back of their heads are getting louder.

For 18 years in a row now, the red Wings have qualified for the playoffs.

18 years ago. 1991. As in, Gulf War I had really just ended in February.

I was in the 5th grade and still living in Pennsylvania. Bill Clinton was still a no-name Governor of Arkansas and George HW Bush had an 85% approval rating.

also, with the Wings again getting to the 100 point plateau again, that is 9 years in a row, also an NHL record.

For a team that didn't look like it gave a shit about being there tonight, if someone looks at the stats only you'd see a game where Detroit had nearly 50 shots on goal, won about 10 more faceoffs than they lost and were even in hits.

If I saw that (without the score) and didn't see the game, I'd think Detroit won 7-1. Instead it was 3-2 and a game that without Osgood they wouldn't have won.
