Detroit Red Wings (Official Thread)

Kopecky, Hossa and Sammy are likely gone.

Chelios is in his last year.

conklin is going to go as is Osgood probably.

They will probably re-sign Franzen. They'll take Hudler to the arbitrator and he'll probably get 1.5/2Mill per year since he's a step or so behind Filipula who just went through it.

I said it earlier in the year that this is the year the window closes for a true Stanley Cup run for a bit. Next year will be the youth movement.

McCollum and Howard have both played extremely well for their teams, so losing Ozzie and Conks won't be terrible. Losing Hossa won't be bad if we re-sign Franzen, and it gives Leino a shot next year with the big team (I believe he's signed for just this year, but I assume we will sign him again as he's played well for the Griffins.) Plus, if Cheli leaves, Kindl (who is a stud) will get a bunch more playing time. To be honest, I don't think they lose much, and with Pavs and Zetterberg, they always have a shot to win the Cup.

it could be worse you could be still waiting for your back up goaltenders pad to be approved by the nhl... its only been what ten twleve days?

yeah but that hasn't cost you a goal yet.

Turdo tripped Holmstrom so he was off-balance and then the Dallas defenseman backed into him, while off-balance, as Turdo came up and humped him from behind. When about 2 seconds after the puck was in the net, Turdco flopped and the entire mess came down on top of him. And it completely impressed O'blindagain, because he waved off the goal in typical bullshit NHL ref fashion.

And it completely changed the game from that point on. Detroit lost all momentum and Dallas trapped the entire 3rd period.

true but having a back up goaltender who doesnt have nhl approved pads means well hes not really a back up goaltender, why because his pads arent approved. how long does it take to make a few measurements say, yup, ok good to go.

ohalloran is from just over the det river, hes a wings fan. but hes a crappy, so even if he tried to botch the game hed struggle...

i didnt see the game or the play. dallas is buzzing along pretty good now though...

Here ya go:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XduEQT31AuM]YouTube - OHalloran shafts the Wings..... AGAIN![/ame]

BTW this is at least the 4th time I can think of O'blindahan waiving off a goal that involved Holmstrom and by the letter and intent of the rule, he's been wrong each time.

Homer out with a groin strain.

Zetterberg is missing hopefully his final game tomorrow with his back issues.

Abdelkader is up and Aaron Downey was sent down.

The injuries are really piling up with both Franzen and Hudler as gametime decisions.

Holmstrom is going to be out 3 to 5 weeks due to hernia surgery.

that's actually a good thing for a couple different reasons....

1. He won't be beat up going into the playoffs too badly at least.

2. He'll be on the LTIR, so his salary for that time comes off of the cap.
