I live in Crestview about 25 miles north of Destin. I have been to the BW3's in Ft. Walton Beach to watch some games. There is always some buckeye fans there. Johnny O'Quigleys is nice too. I've never been there for a buckeye game. There is also a sports bar by the pier on Okaloosa Island called Anglers. I have been there for NFL games but never OSU games. I'll probably watch the game at my house. I tend to down too many cold ones when watching the Bucks!

I used to live on Eglin AFB, Look up Hooters if that's your thing. If you want better wings than Buffalo wild wings try Buffalo's Reef almost right across the street on 85 in Fort Walton. Problem with Reef is the atmosphere.
While you're there you must try Taco Town for me at lunch time. It's like Taco Bell only it tastes good, which of course means its nothing like taco bell. And they're slogan is better "Why run to the border when you come to town?" Smothered burritos. Smothered anything really. Get the hotter sauce its really good. Oddly enough the mild is more like ketchup and not good at all. Ah the memories. Further up on 85 is Big Apple Bagels. They have really good bagels. Try the cheddar bagel with your favorite cream cheese. They also have great coffee. Seriously Taco Town and Big Apple Bagels are the #1a 1b things we miss about the area.

Don't know your budget but if you're looking for a nice place to eat one night try the Mariana Cafe on 98 in Destin. This would be more of a romantic type restaurant. Known for sushi, which I don't eat, it has plenty of other great dishes. I had some spicy red snapper dinner that was my first exposure to gourmet food. My bride and I shared the creme brule. Wow.

Sports Bar- Miller's Ale House, O'Quigley's Irish Pub, McGuires (Irish also)
Seafood- Back Porch (right on beach); Acme Oyster House (In Baytown); Dewey Destin (on water, i've never been there though); AJs (In Harbor); Crab Trap (on Beach); Lucky Snapper
Pizza-HelenBack (In Oklaoosa Island, really nice view, it's a biker bar type place, great pizza and beer place), Ciao Bella, Jordano's
Mexican-Cantina Laredo

All I have for now, really can't go wrong with a lot of the seafood places around here, lots of good ones, just depends on the price range you want

No really great local steak places, just chains (outback and longhorn)...just trying to suggest the local type places

If you want a really great cheap fast good type mexican place, there's a place in Niceville (which is where actually I live, it's basically right next door to Destin) called Taco Town, great tacos for a cheap price (most expensive thing they have is like $4.00)
