Denver Movie Shooting - 12 dead, 59 wounded

I'm still a rookie at the parenting game. Mine are 9 and 6 girls, and at times, I feel completely clueless on what to do. The society we live in isn't making it easier, but I get encouragement from those who have been there before.

Just be glad you don't live in an age where you would already be arranging a marriage for the girls for political/monetary gain. :)

BTW can we not call this the 'Batman massacre', that just adds to the notoriety that feeds the egos of the type of idiots responsible for these tragedies.

Sorry, I saw it referred that in an article. Any mod is welcome to update the thread title as they see fit.

edit: never mind -- figured out how to do it myself

Sorry if it sounded like I was calling you out specifically. That wasn't my intention at all. More of a general criticism of how the media reacts to these events.

IMO it's best not to the psychos what they so desperately crave above all else...attention.

Look I didn't wish this on anybody. I had nothing to do with it. You are acting like I wished for it to happen in my sleep last night or something. Like tonight I'm going to go to bed and wish for better aim. Are you that stupid? I can say though that if someone came up to me yesterday and said something like this would happen in a US city today..I probably would have thought..well HV would be as good of place as any. Not because I was wishing for it. How many people here wouldn't think the same?

As for your personal feelings Mac and Mike.....I don't care. The fact that you brought up the NBA finals is a joke. i'm surprised neither one of you have blamed Lebron yet.

I never said anyone other than myself was comparing this Colorado tragedy and PSU. Despite what people..any people think..In my heart what happened to those kids at PSU is ultimately worse.

While I honestly don't feel the need to defend my personal opinion on the matter to anyone let me at least give you an idea. In the early 90's I had two friends die within a year of each other. My first friend was always kind of out there and no one ever really knew why. That is until he committed suicide and left a note and mentioned being sexually abused as a preteen. It ate at him for another 17 years, every day until the end. my second friend..well he was just driving too fast around a corner one night and lost control. While both sets of parents of my friends still mourn a loss of a loved one the parents of the one who committed suicide are by far and away worse off. I'm sure there are similar stories out there..and I'm sure there are ones with completely opposite results

So maybe it's just me...Maybe i have gone a lil 5150 in my aging years, but to me sometimes death seems to be better than living a tortured life.

So when I say what happened in HV is worse to me than what happened in Colorado...It's not to diminish the tragedy that happened there...it's just to put an emphasis on how badly I feel for the children that this happened to in HV. it honestly makes me wonder what the suicide rate was among those of the second mile as I hadn't ever really connected the 2 points in my head until now.

I'm sorry if I honestly offended anyone here, it wasn't my intention at all.

Not a problem. I agree completely.

My oldest just turned 5. God help the little bastard that tries to date her when she's in her 20s.

All I know is if I have a girl, it's going to be like this:

When you say stupid shit like "wrong town", you just prove what I thought during the NBA finals.

Don't be an idiot and even try to compare death with what happened in Happy Valley. Only the living can eventually heal. 12 people in Denver won't get that opportunity.

Prayers for the families and friends of the victims. I wanted to get on here and rant about the shooter and what excruciatingly painful demise he deserves, but I believe the families should be the focus. With that being said, it is human nature to want to learn more about the shooter. A morbid curiosity if you will. So, I expect there to be more of a focus on the shooter than the victims in the media. I just hope the families are getting the support and privacy that they need and deserve at this time. Geez, what a horrible situation.

woke to hear this and just have so many questions to why someone would do this. I feel so bad for anyone who lost someone in this. Just sucks. First thin i thought, was why NO ONE was packing heat. But then again who the fuck would take there piece into a movie theater.

Sadly our "govment" will waste tax payers dollars housing and trying this P.O.S. instead of ending it with a $0.40 bullet. Sad :(
