Denver Movie Shooting - 12 dead, 59 wounded

So the mother of the shooter says "yeah, you have the right guy"

Umm so you know that he had some kind of potential to do this? Or is the media skewing the context of this statement?

Wrong town.

To repeat:

tact, n. Pronunciation: /takt/ Etymology: < (immed. or ultimately) Latin tact-us touch. Ready and delicate sense of what is fitting and proper in dealing with others, so as to avoid giving offence, or win good will; skill or judgement in dealing with men or negotiating difficult or delicate situations; the faculty of saying or doing the right thing at the right time

No, fuck that.

I wouldn't wish this on anyone, even those mutants in Happy Valley.

Well I suppose that was too soon. Napalm and salt isn't exactly humane. I wasn't wishing this on anybody. I also wouldn't wish this on the mutants in Happy Valley. But at least one of those fucked up mutants did...or was it a Temple board wishing for a cataclysmic event?

My prayers go out to the families in Colorado..they really do..IMO however this isn't near the tragedy that happened in Happy Valley. JS in essence performed torture on children for many years and was covered for by a bunch of men that had their best interests in mind. What happened here today was a random act of violence perpetrated by one individual that was obviously way out of touch with reality.

You know what just thinking about what Jerry did and Joe knew about for all those years really fucking pisses me off. So I retract my comment.."wrong town". Happy valley doesn't deserve the national sympathy that would come from something like this.

Someone is getting fired today...

@celebboutique #Aurora is trending, clearly about our Kim K inspired #Aurora dress Shop: celebboutique.com

WTF is that?!?! And the story...

CelebBoutique Tweet Riffs On Aurora 'Batman' Shooting:

Amongst the many heartfelt tweets posted about the tragic shooting in Aurora, Colorado, one caught our eye. CelebBoutique.com, an online retailer based in the U.K., posted this tweet on Friday afternoon:

'@celebboutique #Aurora is trending, clearly about our Kim K inspired #Aurora dress Shop: celebboutique.com'

The quip was followed by a link to the store's Aurora dress, a white pleated v-neck frock inspired by Kim Kardashian.

Unsurprisingly, the tweet has already garnered negative reactions, including one follower who tweeted, "Wow. Clueless much?"

It's possible that their Twitter feed has a bot set up to scan trending topics, auto-generating tweets based on trending terms. We have contacted the company for a statement and will update should we hear back.

No one here is comparing Ped State to what happened in Colorado. Do us all a favor here, grow up

As I said during the NBA Finals - yes, you really are that dense.

You realize the napalm and salt allusion is just about the university, RIGHT?

Oh wait, you probably don't. Nevermind. :roll2:

I'm not saying that what happened with Sandusky isn't horrendous. I have two daughters - and it frankly scares the shit outta me of the way the world looks at children in today's society. I just saw two girls last week in the news where guys just tried to come up and snatch them in broad daylight in public. There's two girls in Iowa that are still missing right now that the police are looking for.

I couldn't imagine what would happen in the case where someone in my family or that I know would abuse my daughters.

I tell you this, though - they'd better put the motherf***er that ever thinks of touching my babies in protective custody - because that would be the only way they'd live.

That being said - people's lives have been changed FOREVER because of what happened in Aurora. and I'm not just talking about the families of the ones that were killed. I'm talking about the wounded (both emotionally and physically). They will never be the same.

What happened in Happy Valley is worse? Really? Well, living in a community where a tragedy like what happened in Aurora happened (Omaha, Nebraska), I can tell you you're right. It's nothing like what happened in Happy Valley. It's worse. People have lost their lives there. Anybody that tries to compare this with what happened in Happy Valley needs their head examined, or is just a sycophant.

So you're upset by the lack of moral response by those in Happy Valley. But yet you say "wrong town"?? You contradict yourself here. No human being with morals would wish what has happened in Colorado on someone. Check yourself.

This is wandering off-topic but if the modern views about children scare you then those of the past would probably have given you a stroke.

BTW can we not call this the 'Batman massacre', that just adds to the notoriety that feeds the egos of the type of idiots responsible for these tragedies.

I'm still a rookie at the parenting game. Mine are 9 and 6 girls, and at times, I feel completely clueless on what to do. The society we live in isn't making it easier, but I get encouragement from those who have been there before.

My oldest just turned 5. God help the little bastard that tries to date her when she's in her 20s.
