Denver Movie Shooting - 12 dead, 59 wounded

Having already seen the usual blame game of linking this to video games, Muslim socialist terrorists, Tea Partiers, other patrons not carrying guns to shoot back, etc. I'be decided to blame this chick:

If she had just blown him instead of selling him guns, this wouldn't have happened. Not out of the realm of possibility, the Gunsmoke shop is in Denver.

Seriously, thoughts and prayers for the families of the victims.

That sports caster mentioned earlier in this thread:

Ghawi wrote for Busted Coverage and kept a blog of her own. Her last entry was an account of the Eaton Centre shooting last month in Toronto:
I can't get this odd feeling out of my chest. This empty, almost sickening feeling won't go away. I noticed this feeling when I was in the Eaton Center in Toronto just seconds before someone opened fire in the food court. An odd feeling which led me to go outside and unknowingly out of harm?s way. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around how a weird feeling saved me from being in the middle of a deadly shooting.

I'm not trying to be insensitive, but what the hell were 3 and 6 month old infants doing at a midnight movie?
I don't care if it was a matinee, 3 and 6 month old infants should not be dragged to a movie. Nothing pisses me off more than selfish parents who bring their infants to a movie (well, okay...some fuckhead who shoots people in a movie theater pisses me off more).

Yep. But there has to be a discussion down the line. One that involves common sense people (AKA not the NRA and not the people who want to repeal the 2nd amendment).

People who can actually sit down and talk like normal human beings in the real world, not people who think this is the frontier nor people who envision a world of ponies and rainbows.
You would have thought there would have been some serious discussions after Gabrielle Giffords got shot, but very little happened. I would expect the same in this case.

Aurora police and FBI officials told Denver NBC affiliate 9News Friday morning that the suspect in the early Friday morning movie theater mass shooting has "booby-trapped" his apartment with a sophisticated set up of flammable devices that could take authorities days to disarm.
"It's pretty sophisticated the way it's booby trapped," Aurora's police chief Dan Oates told 9News. "We could be here for hours, we could be here for days."

wow...an AR-15, A remington shotgun, 2 .40 cal pistols, riot gear, tear gas, a detailed plan of attack....Tac vest, leggings, groin protector, throat protector, Kelvar helmet. Dressed in black.

Dude was ready to go. He is likely insane, but he was focused. :shake:
