Deion Sanders (HC Colorado)

I'm here for the entertainment too.
But honestly, what's the difference in what Sanders did, with what Lincoln Riley did? Riley ditched USC for a bigger contract, and brought his star QB with him from OU.

Well for starters Riley ran from competition.
He admitted he didn't want any part of OU joining the SEC, then bolted when they announced they would.
He's probably pissed that USC then decided to join the Big Ten and is trying to figure a way to resurrect the last few years of the old Big East and find a new landing spot.

Forgot about the leaving just as OU joins a real football conference. Well, now he is about to be in the other real football conference. LOL

Lincoln Riley can't even touch the amount of charisma and marketing skills that Dieon has. Also, Sanders went to a school nobody cares about that had a short run of dominance after leaving an HBCU while Riley went to one of the bluebloods after leaving a blueblood in the middle of nowhere. People truly love or hate Sanders which gets clicks where only Oklahoma fans probably care about Riley. There may be something else here but I am just spitballing.
He still left a school for another school, and took his former starting QB with him, and made him the starter at the new school without a competition. Just like what Deion did...

One had success at a big name P5 school before going mercenary to another one.
The other was beating up on FCS schools with 4* recruits and dodging authorities in Texas for his charter school scam, before going to a dead end program on the cusp of being left in a dead conference. And definitely one of the schools that won't be getting any/many invites to the adult table.

Well, there's a difference when the QB is your son. But the other players Deion took with him are the same as what Riley did. Both are shitty. Fuck em both.

You originally asked

But honestly, what's the difference in what Sanders did, with what Lincoln Riley did?

And I answered with a couple of differences. Did I not hit the one you were looking for?

The last time a coach put his son in at QB at CU was Dan Hawkins and Cody. That really worked out.

One thing I am sure of is that this father son duo is one hell of a lot more athletically gifted than the first one.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, and my memory is a little hazy on all this, but wasn't the last time Colorado was good it was when the QB knocked up the coaches daughter and then keeled over dead. (I think Les Miles killed him, thus making Les Miles the unborn son's legal guardian under the Napoleonic Code and then the kid ended up playing QB for Miles at LSU, where Miles had to go to have the French Laws apply)

So, that's pretty much the same thing two more times, right?

(No? Ah well, they're gonna totally still suck btw)

that kid was terrible and never stepped foot on the field, so I don't think that one counts.

ETA: yes I know it's shocking that a QB at LSU when Les Miles was here wasn't any good.
