What BuckFan38 said. No system of punishment is perfect, but the "eye for an eye" one is a helluva deterent...

It's pretty simple... Paterno did a lot of great things. He was a great coach, no doubt about it. He helped a lot of boys become men. He donated a lot of money to the university he loved. But when he had a chance to do what was right by these children, he didn't. I don't care if he did what was legally required. I don't care if he thought someone else was going to handle it. When Paterno saw Sandusky was still on Penn State's campus, still had an office in his department years after these events took place... He did nothing. Joe Paterno was the most powerful man on that campus. His boss asked him to step down a year ago and Paterno kicked him out of his house and said he'd quit when he was good and ready. Who can do that to their superior? Joe had no superiors and had an obligation to the children his buddy was raping in HIS building. He failed. I will not revel in any human's death but I will not lose a minutes sleep over Joe Paterno's either.
