DE Walter "Scooter" Dublin (official thread)

Just a shot in the dark, but at 6'3" 235 and great speed, could he be a rush end/OLB for us in the mold of Bobby Carpenter?

Actually I think it's more of an Alex Barrow situation. Size and quickness enough to play DE, but the frame to get bigger and move inside. He played mostly DT this year in HS. Alex has stayed at DE so far, but I remember when he came out there was talk of him getting bigger and moving inside.

Dublin would be a great addition to this class. He is explosive off the edge and does not give up on plays. Also has long arms. Also plays the run well as witnessed by the tackles that he made near the goal-line. I think this is a big time prospect and bodes well for our ability to recruit in FL.

Florida DE To Visit Clemson

By Phil Kornblut
DE Walter Dublin (6-3 235) of Sarasota, FL has scheduled an official visit to Clemson for January 13th. That will be his final visit. He has been to Iowa and Minnesota and will visit Ohio State this weekend. He will choose one of those four schools according to his mother. Clemson recruiter Marion Hobby recently talked to Dublin. He wants to major in communications and was very impressed with what Minnesota offered in that area according to his mother. Dublin has family who live in Union.

Another great read from Dave Biddle (I think he does a tremendous job). Dublin talks about his excitement for his visit to tOSU this weekend. He plans on making a decision shortly after his 1/13 visit to Clemson. Walter is reporting a 2.8 GPA and 1100 on the SAT (I'm guessing new version).
