DE Robert Rose (Official Thread)

Locally, the news programs showed Zetts from YSU talking about his play and how he expects to break all kinds of Penguin records. I think it will be kind of hard to break records when in the first game, you are trying not to be broken in half!!!!

:oh: GO BUCKS! :io:

I agree Wilson is a better all around end at this point. He's probably our best DE against the run, and he isn't a slouch rushing the passer either.

I want to see if we don't find away to get all three on the field some how though, with maybe Rose or Gholston sliding down to bull rush the interior on passing downs.

Check the latest article on the O-Zone. It specifically mentions that Coach Heacock wants to use Rose much like Patterson & Darrion Scott in an inside/outside roll.

I wonder if it is becuase of his now weight at 285? Mario Williams was 290 when he got drafted. I don't know about the speed differences, quickness and agility between the two... but both are built like rocks and Rose has the skill set to become a VERY good DE for us. Plus, we are pretty short on DEs right now.

Don't you mean DT's?

Abdallah & Barrow have been backups, and have limited time left. Gholston is likely gone after this year.

Years remaining for the others:

DT: Denlinger 3, Worthington 3, Larimore 4, Heyward 4, Goebel 4*. Excellent reviews on those first four, and high potential for Mr. Goebel.
DE: Wilson 2, Rose 3... then Thomas & Williams as LEOs.

Rose might slide inside at times, but overall he is much more needed outside.

IMO Johnson will add to that list of DE's sometime in the future...

Also it would be great to pull Hale in this year to add to the depth...
