DE Robert Rose (Official Thread)

Glenville kids like to take their free trips. i'm very confident that Small and Rose end up Bucks. i'm actually glad that Rose went out there with him, especially since Rose hasn't gotten much if any attention from USC and definitely doesn't have an offer at this point. a fellow Tarblooder to remind him of the Buckeyes waiting for him back home is a good thing.

you probably know more about his recruitment than i do, but according to rivals, he has an offer from USC and is listing them as high along with OSU, almost identical to smalls recruitment. he might be sporting OSU wristbands, but IMO i think he might be liking the thought of USC.

Not Rose. He has said he didn't like his trip all that much and he is just waiting until later in the process to verbal. No worries here man. I mean he wore a tOSU shirt to a visit to USC. Hey at least he respected them enough to turn it inside out. :)

Neither Ray nor Rob were overly impressed with their visit to USC. Rob indicates that he and Ray will likely take all their visits together and probably end up at the same school. He also talks about being invited to the All-American game.

I went up to the Glenville-Harding game yesterday after the Iowa game. Glenville dominated and won 34-0.

It's very clear that there is an OSU connection at Glenville. If fans weren't wearing Glenville gear, they were wearing OSU stuff (including Whitner's Fiesta Bowl jersey). The Tarblooders did the linked-arms pregame ritual that OSU has. They also run some similar formations, shot-ginn and punt returns, in particular.

Rose is physically ready for any level. He does still seem fairly raw as a football player, but his potential is undeniable. There were a few plays where he just blew through (or around) the line and got to the QB. I think he only had one sack, but he applied plenty of pressure. Other times, however, he got stuffed. Not quite as consistent as one would like, but spectacular at other times. Consistency will come with coaching and experience, so there's nothing to worry about there.

Rob doubled as the long-snapper for the game. I think his future will be at D-line though... he had 2 bad snaps

Bucknuts was there, so there should be game pics to follow...
