I knew it was probably inevitable that he would end up here, but I'm really glad he's committed to the good guys. Guy is going to be nasty for the Bucks.
Nick Bosa: Behind His Decision And Looking Ahead To Ohio State
On July 23 Buckeye Nation had big news to celebrate as Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas 5-star defensive end Nick Bosa announced he had committed to Ohio State over scholarship offers from Florida State, Florida and many other schools across the country. Bosa’s decision was hardly a surprise, most had him tagged to be a Buckeye. But it none the less was great news for Ohio State fans.
Two plus weeks later 247Sports recruiting analyst Luke Stampini had the opportunity to follow up with Bosa in-person.
While some felt Bosa had made his decision long before he announced it, Bosa told Stampini that was not the case.
“The actual decision, I was at school and I decided that morning,” Bosa said. “I went into coach (George) Smith’s office. I called my parents and they came over. And then I put the phone on speaker and called coach (Urban) Meyer and told him. He was with all the coaches in the coaches meetings so he put me on speaker and they were all cheering. It was fun.”
Meyer as one would expect, was more than happy to get the great news from Bosa.
“It was great,” Bosa said. “Coach Meyer has been waiting, he has kept thinking I was going to commit, but I finally did it. He was pumped. It was awesome.”
ESPN was at St. Thomas Aquinas doing an interview with Nick last week... not sure when it will air. It was evidently a big deal while they were on campus...
