DE Keith Wells (Columbus State; transfer to Ohio Dominican)

I think he was referring to stubby spelt, the grain.

It's a common mistake.

Wells is a guy that I'm going to be really excited to watch his progression. Unbelievable character. Kind of like to see him redshirt for conditioning purposes, that is unless the staff thinks they can't keep him off the field. For DE he really needs to add 20-30lbs, but the instincts he showed in his highlight reels can make up for a lot. Just the kind of kid that will excel at OSU.

Keith put some weight on over summer. If someone gets hurt he could contribute this year.

Have been looking to see how he's doing in camp. He looks like he did hit the weights. Strong kid.

His interview from signing day has stuck in my head for a long time. I got the feeling that coming into the program he sincerely felt as strongly for the school and program as we who went there feel now. Often times it isn't until many years later that you have that kind of feeling. The way he talked in that interview left me with the impression that he really got it and will suck the marrow from the bones of this opportunity.

I'm really looking forward to looking back at his time in S&G and being right about what I just said.

Go get 'em Keith.

implying they will play, or that JT wants these guys to have "big game" experience for the future?

Either way it can only be beneficial! But you would have to think that JT wouldnt just let players travel if they wouldnt at least potentially have the opportunity to see the field. With the size of the travel squads its not like they have alot of extra spaces to fill with players who are only there for the experience!
