DE Jaylahn (JT) Tuimoloau (Owner, Giant Erector Set, All B1G)

A couple of the analyst presented some thought provoking input...
Regarding NIL... Bama has put quite a few DEs into the NFL... name them.. name any of them
Johnson has put Joey, Nick and Chase into the NFL plus others... but you know those names
The difference of the Bosa contracts vs the best Bama contract is well over $18M
$18M far exceeds whatever even a bogus NIL could put on his table. LT gain vs ST gain...

As far as position, it was stated.... let him try wherever he wants... him and Johnson will evaluate
and they'll come to grips with whatever position he's best suited...
If he wants DE... a Bama DE in a 3-4 has primary responsibility to hold things up for the LB to make the play
Johnson and the 4-3 says "sic 'em... cause mayhem"

IMO, JTT is a new age version of Cam Heyward(and on a lower scale can be comparable to Jashon Cornell). Put him on the edge, and he can move inside in the Rushmen package.

And the funny thing about Bama is, all of the high 4 and 5star DEs they've gotten over the years, you're correct, next to none do they put in the league. Guys like Dashawn Hand, Tim Williams, Terrell Lewis, Isaih Buggs, etc, have done little in the league, if they've made it to the professional level at all. LJsr's track record speaks for itself. Bama is known for their IDL, and at that they've done a great job, but that doesn't pertain to JTT. And I feel if he were to sign with Bama, and they try him at DT, he will be in the portal within 2yrs.

Chase Young signed a 4 year, $34,563,594 contract with the Washington Redskins, including a $22,697,160 signing bonus, $34,563,594 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $8,640,899.

Nick Bosa signed a 4 year, $33,551,865 contract with the San Francisco 49ers, including a $22,421,356 signing bonus, $33,551,865 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $8,387,966.

(After his initial rookie contract for $25.8M) Joey Bosa signed a 5 year, $135,000,000 contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, including $102,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $27,000,000.

OK, I'll accept the challenge and name two..... If this site is current, Alabama has 2 DEs in the NFL (Isaiah Buggs and Da'Shawn Hand); however, they sure got a bus load of DTs.

Bama plays a completely different defensive style so it’s hard to compare. It really comes down to what JTT really wants to mold himself as and what coaches he trusts the most to get him to that.

Personal opinion Ohio State offers him much more versatility but I’m no expert and I’m not the kid.

Either way he’s likely to be a beast but it’s not going to make or break either program. Though whoever he chooses will get a heck of a player so it’s not “meaningless”

Yes, they play different schemes, and not to be biased but OSU's tends to favor a true DE as a pass rusher. The OLBs get the sacks in Bama's scheme, while on the DL he'd be the guy tying up OL for the LBs to make plays. And thats fine if thats what he wants. But there was talk that Hand was the next coming of Jadeveon Clowney, and he came and left Bama with little to no fanfare. And I see him not making much noise at DL at Bama, as opposed to being at OSU and being another Joey Bosa. A large SDE that can play inside or outside. And not have the wear and tear as he'll still be rotated at OSU

Yes OSU offers him more IMO as far as his NFL Career goes. It's great that Alabama produces great DTs but in the NFL the guys who really get paid are the guys who get after the QB.

The Bosa brothers, Chase, Donald, Garrett, Watt etc all the way back in time (Reggie White etc) are players who got after the QB. Alabama doesn't develop edge rushers and that's no fault to them because if that was their style I think they could be good at it. It's not their style though. Their style is to tie up the OL and to stop the run which you'll do here too but you're also going to be asked to get to the QB too.

SCOTUS timed it perfectly for Saban. I can hardly imagine the package he will be offering
I've heard some OSU sites say that Alabama can't be touched with what they can offer for NIL and I don't get that. Both Alabama and OSU can offer the exact same nationally (Nike, Verizon, Amazon, FB etc) the difference is Columbus vs Tuscaloosa. Which city has more opportunities? Columbus and it's not close. We also have a bigger alumni base too so far more likely that OSU has a further reach.

Besides last I checked Alabama is near their payroll cap and OSU doesn't even have one yet.

IMO NIL is an advantage for OSU.

ESPN money matters. With the NCAA finally being fully castrated, it is going to be a free for all. And remember, it just "means more" down there.

The J.T. Tuimoloau Tracker: What's happening with 2021's No. 1 recruit

J.T. TALKS ABOUT HIS FOURTH OFFICIAL VISIT TO OREGON (JUNE 23)

Samammish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic defensive lineman J.T. Tuimoloau is no stranger to Oregon- he's been there for multiple unofficial visits and was there in April for a public spring practice.

But his official visit to Eugene gave him a chance to see the school up close and personally.

Fresh off his visit to Ohio State, Tuimoloau flew to Eugene (with a layover in Colorado), to take his official to Oregon.

"The trip was great," said Tuimoloau. "It was a good visit, my family and I had a good time and we got a lot of good information."

that was unexpected. So let's speculate...... bc that's what we do best as fans.... Did he enjoy his OR trip that much or is it the combo of his past 2 visits to OSU and OR that he feels he needs to narrow things down to the 2 regional teams and his other 2 faves to reach a decision soon? Either way, I like our chances better w/ Bama out of the equation, although it appears the Ducks are coming on strong.
