DE Jaylahn (JT) Tuimoloau (Owner, Giant Erector Set, All B1G)

Birm’s latest doesn’t sound super encouraging

However, it’s kind of interesting that both Lindy’s and Athlon, two of the best season preview magazines, list Tuimoloau in our class and one of our impact frosh.

The information regarding summer class schedules beginning is pretty interesting. Assuming he takes visits to Oregon/Bama it’s pretty clear he isn’t picking tOSU.

That said, it’s not out of the realm he takes his visit and commits and begins classes on time. It feels like the timing of his OSU visit gives him the flexibility to end the recruiting process and enroll immediately. Should he still have doubts, and he follows through on Oregon and Bama visits it’s essentially down to them IMO. He can take all trips and still be enrolled for summer classes at those schools.

Watched Talking Stuff on YouTube where Birm talked about this. The take away at the end was he’s still guessing tOSU and not enrolling in summer classes.

Yeah I wouldnt think summer classes have anything to do with this. Unless players need to go through that in order to be eligible in the fall?

IMO the reason for the pessimism is Alabama just doesnt miss on these kinds of kids. Then again we have Larry Johnson so just have to hope that relationship is enough.

you serious Clark?
I think Ohio State is playing in the minor leagues compared to the bags of cash that get thrown around in SEC land.

I’m no good at the meme-ing, but SEC cheating on the left, Ohio State cheating on the right.

My question is here is how the @?%! does Bama still have space at this point? They took a class of 28 plus 2 high profile transfers.

Alabama Football: A new Portal move as Tide edges closer to roster cap

A quick summary is the Alabama Football roster may have a total of 87 scholarship players for the 2021 season. There will come a day this summer, likely not until August, when Nick Saban will have made his final season roster adjustment.

The Crimson Tide gets to be two over the standard 85-man limit because seniors Brian Robinson Jr. and Chris Owens exercised the NCAA-allowed and COVID-driven, extra season option.

Alabama Football 2021 Roster Changes
  • Now former Crimson Tide players transferred via the Portal: Ben Davis (Texas); Ale Kaho (UCLA); Kevin Harris (Georgia Tech); Joseph Bulovas (Vanderbilt); Eddie Smith (Illinois). Months ago, Ishmael Sopsher decided to transfer and joined USC for the 2021 season.
  • Currently in the Portal is Ronald Williams and the newest Tide transfer, Brandon Turnage.
  • Though no details have been made available, Michael Parker and Jarez Parks are reported to no longer be on the Tide roster.
  • The exact list of kickers is unclear. but only one, Will Reichard is believed to be on scholarship.
  • Ohio State wide receiver, Jameson Williams will officially transfer to the Crimson Tide soon.
Adding in the 13 summer enrollees, the scholarship count is at 90. That is three over the limit. Most Alabama football insiders believe Nick Saban will make room for two more players. They are J.T. Tulmoloau and the transferring-out Tennessee Vol, Henry To’o To’o.

I am going to subscribe to this theory right up until it proves to not be true. Yes, JTT could fall in love with tOSU and have an urgent reason to sign on the line. Then, Pantoni should then sign up for name, image, likeness.

I took a commercial flight once when a whopper of a downdraft made me swear I would never fly gain. IF they showed one during the preflight movies, every passenger would exit before takeoff.

Yeah, but his confidence level is just a 1.

I’m concerned Bama boosters are going to give him and his family a ton of money in McDonald’s bags and that may influence his decision.

Hell, Alabama has been out recruiting (and undoubtedly out spending) Tennessee; they probably use the Wendy's BIGGIE BAG.

:biggrin2:

Are people concerned the bama has the last visit or will have the opportunity to leave the last impression or are they concerned he scheduled bama last on purpose because that's where he's goin? I get it's not ideal but why is he all of a sudden a lock for bama because they have the last visit?

We don't really know what factors went into his official visit schedule. I have to think JT and his family won't be making any instantaneous/knee jerk decisions on which school to attend. The order of the visits may not even be a factor. After the 5 visits they are probably going to sit down and evaluate which is the best school for his education, coaching, possible NFL career, preparation for life after football, other intangibles (best fit, comfortable environment, campus, team chemistry, etc.), and (now probably) NIL opportunities.

All 6 Crystal Balls (100%) are still predicting Ohio State; even though the average level of confidence is just "medium/4". The deciding factor could very well come down to his relationship with Larry Johnson (Ohio State) vs Freddie Roach (Alabama).
