The fact that Clowney's video is used as a one up on Marcus speaks volumes. I can't wait to hear reports out of camp about this dude. Several times in pressers after the last class signed Urban said something to the effect "we have a young man Jamal Marcus that has some very impressive videos." Couldn't be more accurate, he was kind of smirking because he knew he had a player that was very underated by the recruiting services. I put him up there with Spence and Washington as the recruits I was most excited about. TEAR IT UP JAMAL!!

Jamal got a special mention from Urban today at his press conference. Says Jamal "can't tell up from down" just yet with regards to the schemes of the defense, but he'll run through anything to get from point A to point B as quick as possible. Made mention that he's going to see some playing time this year.

I cannot wait to see this kid play.

It's early yet but ever since seeing that highlight film I've been a big Jamal fan. It will be scary to see what he can do once he does get his barings straight on defense and still goes from point A to B like he does.

Entrance Exam is a series at BuckeyeNation where we chat with incoming freshmen in Ohio State athletics.

Jamal Marcus was one of the last recruits to commit to Ohio State from the class of 2012. He might be one of the first freshmen on the field this fall for the Buckeyes.

Drawing praise from position coaches and Urban Meyer, Marcus is showing his learning curve isn't jagged as he fights his way onto the depth chart at linebacker.

Haven't heard many updates about Jamal lately as to how he's picking up schemes on the defensive side of the ball. Got to see his natural explosion and tenacity in a couple of the all access clips. Looks like he's flying around all over the place i just hope he can figure out where he's going soon and hit the field early. Regardless, the speed in this group of LBs is gonna be something special.

The first game against Fredo U will be very telling to see what kind of squad the Buckeyes have. IMO, the second and potentially thirds will get some playing time against Fredo.

Agreed. I don't care if we win by 35 points in the early games like other teams will. Since we can't go bowling it makes more sense to get the young guys some reps. I just hope to be solid in conference play and build a solid base for a NC run in 2013.
