He paused after saying 20 as if he forgot what year it was for a moment
Forgot what year it is? Heck, at my age I forget what.........He paused after saying 20 as if he forgot what year it was for a moment
100%. He didnt get credited with the tackles but he absolutely blew up NDs plays several times. You want to see a guy set the freaking edge, watch Jack set it 2 yards BEHIND the LOS and force the play back into a place no back wanted to go on Saturday. Michael Hall was allowed to destroy the Irish because, well he's a monster, and because Jack Sawyer and JT dismantled the ends of the line of scrimmage.I thought Sawyer had a really solid game against ND. He blew up a few outside runs and just engulfed the offensive players trying to block him.
I’m excited to see more….it felt like there was a lot of focus on our edges which allowed Mike Hall to feast inside. I think as offenses evolve to what we’re doing, JT and Sawyer will feast on QB’s.
Here is an example of Sawyer's support player contribution, without much glory. On Hall's big final sack, it was Sawyer who "stunted" to free up Hall. Hall had a double team, but Sawyer came around to occupy the second blocker, and the first blocker let Hall by thinking the second blocker had him. At least that is what I think I see, though I never played football. Really, the credit goes to Knowles.
He had an excellent game... the thing about Jack is he's all over the place. I saw him line up in every game possible on Saturday. That's insane.I thought Sawyer had a really solid game against ND. He blew up a few outside runs and just engulfed the offensive players trying to block him.
