Nickname definitely earned. He's hoping to be scary this year... well, to other teams anyways.
I think he's every bit as good as both Bosa's, and if Nick went 2nd after sitting out most of the year with injury, I don't see why Young(injured or not) doesn't go in the top 5

Not sure Chase would get the same benefit of the doubt if he missed nearly a whole year. Think he'd still go 1st round though. To my untrained eye, he wasn't nearly as polished as the Bosa's but he has a higher ceiling. The fact that he got 10.5 sacks on a bum ankle in his first year starting without Nick on the other side most of the year says a lot. I predict 14 sacks this year.

I think having a more confident Cooper on the opposite side will be huge for Young as well. Offenses won’t be able to pick on Chase as much this season.

Physically I think he's better than Nick and on par with Joey. Nick was just such a technician and had a great first step.
Young I think is bigger and might hold up better against the run. Either way would be shocked if 2 doesn't light it up. Top 5 if he replicates 2018.

When Urban Meyer began setting up shop in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center back in December of 2011, he immediately placed a premium on recruiting talented athletes across the defensive line. At a time when the SEC was dominating the sport, controlling the line of scrimmage with superior size and speed appeared to be the biggest difference between programs like the one Meyer had built in Gainesville and the one he was taking over.
With the signings of top-100 D-line recruits Noah Spence, Adolphus Washington, Tommy Schutt, and Se'Von Pittman in the coming months, Meyer began a trend of stocking Ohio State's defensive line with blue-chip talent that continues to this day. In the seven seasons since, a Buckeye has won the Big Ten's Smith–Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year award five times.
Now, without a Bosa brother on the roster, the most likely candidate to continue that legacy of greatness is clearly Chase Young. The 6'5" 265 lb end from Upper Marlboro, Maryland enters his third, and likely final, season at the collegiate level, fresh off a breakout performance in which he tallied 9.5 sacks and 14.5 tackles-for-loss.
After Nick Bosa's season ended due to injury midway through the third game of the 2018 campaign, Young was forced to step up into a starring role. Two weeks after Bosa's final snap in a Buckeye uniform, Young held a coming-out party, racking up 2 sacks, 2 hurries (officially), 2 passes broken up, and 3 tackles-for-loss including a memorable 4th down stop to seal his team's dramatic 27-26 road win.

Ohio State has officially named its captains for the 2019 season.
Senior safety Jordan Fuller and redshirt junior linebacker Tuf Borland, who are both returning captains from 2018, will be joined by J.K. Dobbins, Chase Young, K.J. Hill, C.J. Saunders and Jonathon Cooper as Ohio State's formal leaders for 2019, Buckeyes coach Ryan Day announced Monday.
Fuller is entering his third season as a starting safety for the Buckeyes and is one of the team's most experienced players, having played 39 games in his Ohio State career. Off the field, Fuller has been named an Academic All-American and an AFCA Good Works Team nominee.
Borland has played in all 28 of Ohio State's games over the past two seasons, including 20 starts at middle linebacker. He had 58 total tackles as a redshirt freshman in 2017, then recorded 67 tackles last season despite missing most of the spring and summer with an Achilles injury. Already a captain for the second time with another season of eligibility remaining after this one, Borland now has a chance to become Ohio State's second-ever three-time captain, a feat that has only been achieved by J.T. Barrett.
J.K. Dobbins, Chase Young, K.J. Hill, C.J. Saunders and Jonathon Cooper are all captains for the first time in their Ohio State careers.
