I'll raise my hand. I was one said WTF?!?!? when he was hired. I couldn't be happier to be as wrong as I was about that. Really hope Matty P is here for a while.

Bad news folks.
Just heard that Matt Patricia will NOT be our Defensive Coordinator during the playoffs.
He has been re-titled "Coordinator of War"

One of the coolest things I noticed from attending the Purdue game was watching Matty P and the defensive staff in action.
After every drive, Matt would grab the tablet and get a huddle with all the position coaches watching over his shoulder. You could see him swiping plays, pointing at things, having others point at the screen and then make notes. Then he would give his marching orders and the position coaches went back to their units to coach them up. It was instant feedback and a collective effort to make changes. And you already know he is a football genius so there’s full confidence he was seeing and changing exactly what he needed to.
People use the word “synergy” a lot - individual pieces coming together to form an even greater good/power/force. That’s exactly what Day has right now. There’s obviously great individual people (coaches and players) but they are all moving in the same direction towards the same goal. Patricia has embraced that and is excelling at what he does best - be a defensive mastermind.
It’s something special to see with this program the last 12 months.

KMac, with tears streaming down his face, wanted to plant that flag after last year, understandably so. But Matty P grabs him and says "celebrate with me, I'm proud of you and I love you".
