I hope everyone is finally on board with the hire now. This defense played lights out. I dont think I had a worry about scUMs offense in the entire 2nd half

Difference between him and Knowles is adjustments. Knowles would come in with a good game plan and shut down a lot of teams but as the game went on there felt like things started to work more against him. Pattricia comes out after half and shuts down what the hell you thought you found.

Agree with the adjustments part and I’ll throw in that even more important was his willingness to embrace and assimilate into the Buckeye culture. A famous Ohio State coach once said “You win with people.” Patricia has done a superior job of building relationships with players and staff. Seems like the players love him and the defensive staff enjoys working with him. Xs and Os are important, but you win with people.

Agreed. I don’t know why anybody in the NFL would want to hire this bum. I’m afraid we’re going to be saddled with him for awhile. That will be terrible.

I can't say that I've liked a coordinator hire better than this guy. Man. that is a lights-our defensive unit.

Matt makes a gameplan and defense that showcases how smart his players are. Knowles created a complicated defense to show how smart he is. Boom

As much as he's done with the X's and O's, I don't think you can ignore the value of his relationships and interactions with players and other coaches. He's always hugging and encouraging others, offense, defense, or Coach Day. Him hugging Day and talking to him after the game, it appeared a lot of Patricia's joy was for Day. Him hugging KMAC and telling him, "Celebrate with me," when it appeared KMAC was almost overcome with emotion, and at least a dozen other examples. He's been a tremendous addition to the program, well beyond drawing up game plans.
