DB Malcolm Jenkins (All B1G, All-American, Thorpe Award, All-Pro, 2x Super Bowl Champion)

What a great game today by MJ! Congrats on an awesome career at tOSU! The intensity you brought (and have always brought) set the tone today. When you threw down scUM's WR in the 1st that just made my day, and i said to myself, well tsun wont be scoring on MJ today! One helluva game!:oh:

Hurrah for MJ , He deserves that award .
Hope you get it Malcolm.

I agree, but it's tough to argue with the other choices there. Any choice is the right choice. I obviously hope it's Malcolm, especially considering he's one of my all-time favorite Buckeyes, and my current favorite.

I feel like a little kid when I see him on campus. :shake:

I'd love to see Malcolm get it, but I see it going to Eric Berry. This guy is a ball-hawking DB. He has 7 picks this year, 12 in two years. He averages 40 yards per INT return with 1 TD this season. I love Malcolm but he didn't get thrown at enough this year to put up the numbers he's capable of and as we all know awards are based on numbers, usually. Although since Eric is only a sophomore, Malcolm may get the nod due to being a senior. We'll see though. Good luck Malcolm!

It's not always stats with DBs. Some of the best CBs have unimpressive stats (Champ Bailey, specifically) because nobody throws their way. Malcolm has also been a force on special teams with a block (maybe two?).

Berry is a beast though. Like I said, there is not a wrong choice in that group.

Can we get some stats that compare them?
We also have to take into account Malcolm has many other turnovers besides int's this year, he has 2 blocks I believe, and 2 FF I think(someone correct me please)
If he is also beating Berry in Tackles and sacks he could have a shot, but sadly all the voters have been looking at in years past was who had the most int's.

Absolutely. Teams have been throwing away from Malcolm Jenkins for the past 3 seasons. Jenkins also would have gotten much more national praise last season had he been allowed to strictly play corner.

Yup.. the fact that he has any stats at all is impressive. He makes a play every time he can. Sometimes there are just perfect throws/perfect routes that nobody can defend. If it's not perfect, he makes a play.

I was never a fan of Malcolm playing safety. But I'm not a coach.. so..
