DB Malcolm Jenkins (All B1G, All-American, Thorpe Award, All-Pro, 2x Super Bowl Champion)

This one really blows me away. I guess Malcolm must be crazy, but in a good way.

Of all the underclassmen, Malcolm was the most important one to keep, simply because of his position. There is NO position, in ANY sport, that is harder to play than CB. Period. We have LB's, DE's, DT's, OL's either here or on their way in who are foaming at the mouth for a shot at the field, and they are ready. I'm not saying that you just "pencil in" someone for a JL, a VG, or MF, who are great players, but their psitions simply don't have the demands that Malcolms does. Every team in the NFL is always looking for CB's and OT's, you simply can never have enough good ones. And, for who I believe to be the best cover CB in the nation to stay with us exposes this guy the way that Doss exposed himself, as a humble kid who loves TOSU football and the life experience that he's receiving here. So what, so instead of going to the NFL as a first round pick this year, he goes to the NFL next year as a Senior Captain, A Consensus All-American, a Thorpe Trophy in pocket, and A National Championship ring on his finger.

Life's gotta be good, huh?:groove:

Either way I am forever a huge Malcolm guy. He earned a place on my all-time favorite list when he protected the "O" against Illinois. I know alot of folks thought he was wrong to do so but anyone protecting their school is right. Way to go Malcolm!!!! Its bitter sweet as my Bills probably had him high on their draft boards but I'm a bigger Buckeye fan (and student) so its all good!!!

Word was that he was saying but you always worry that close to deciding that the $ starts looking more and more attractive. Great choice and I can't wait to see Malcolm back next year.

It is refreshing to see a guy put true love of the game before his pocket book. I wouldnt blame the guy one bit if he would have went pro and took the money. I think he wants to go out on top with a NC. We were going to be good on defense next year any way but this put us on top. I wish him the best next year not because i am a fan, but because he gets IT!!

In the case of Jenkins, "It is always great to get that kind of experience back to help lead this team," Heacock said. "We're finally going to get to play with some older guys again next season, and Malcolm is going to be a big part of that."
Even as a junior, Jenkins was considered an emotional leader for a defense that helped the Buckeyes reach a second straight national championship game. Though they lost for the second time, 38-24 to LSU on Monday, Jenkins had an interception return that set up a touchdown.
Like Gholston, he was projected as a potential first-round pick by several analysts.
"I don't feel that I've accomplished everything I can accomplish in college football, and there's still a lot for me to conquer and shoot for: the national championship, another Big Ten championship, the Thorpe Award," Jenkins said in a statement. "And I really look forward to the honors and perks associated with being a senior on this team.
"We have a great schedule next year, which should be a whole lot of fun. I'm on track to graduate next spring in communications, which will make my mom very happy."
