DB Jeremy Cash (transfer to Duke)

I saw something about Arkansas on a social media site that requires 140 or less character posts.
Considering that's where his two position coaches went, that would only make too much sense.

I've also heard Duke rumored for him. Considering he might have had the highest GPA in his recruiting class coming out of HS, Duke makes a lot of sense as well.

Best of luck to Jeremy. Heck of a player and heck of a person.

Cash Family Speaks

"First off, I want to say there are absolutely no hard feelings at all toward Urban Meyer, Luke Fickell, or The Ohio State University," Cash's step-father, Byron Martin, stated Friday morning. "We want to thank everyone at Ohio State for the opportunity they gave Jeremy, and he enjoyed his time in Columbus. The transfer is just the right move for Jeremy at this time, and we appreciate Coach Meyer and Coach Fickell for their help and understanding. Our family wants to especially thank Jim Tressel for all he did for Jeremy, and continues to do today. We wish all the best for The Ohio State University in the future."

Is there an official reasoning for his transfer yet? The speculation in that article today makes it sound like it may had more to do with playing time.

Looked at the depth chart and realized his chances, had an opportunity to play at another good academic institution. Can't blame the kid at all.

NCAA denies Cash appeal

DURHAM -- The NCAA on Thursday denied Duke's request that Jeremy Cash be eligible to play for the Blue Devils this football season.

Cash, a safety who played at Ohio State last season as a freshman, transferred to Duke in January after the Buckeyes were placed on probation that included a bowl ban for this season. NCAA rules require transfers in football and men's basketball to sit out one season before becoming eligible to play in games their new school.

Duke filed a waiver request with the NCAA seeking immediate eligibility, but Duke spokesman Art Chase said Thursday night the request was denied.

Duke now has 30 days to appeal the decision, which Chase said the school intends to do.

Even though he can't play in games, Cash is allowed to practice with the Blue Devils.
