DB Eugene Clifford (official thread)

And that's why it is great to be Ohio State. If kids want to go to Cincy, that's fine. Their decision and it's an important one. But Ohio State football is bigger than one or two recruits and always has been. UC, on the other hand, needs to pull an Arkansas to get a big recruit. And in football, one recruit does not a program make.

Hahaha this is funny. No one has said anything about a change of heart and you people are acting like it's a done deal.
You also must believe that Clifford would go back on his word.
ME? I will believe it when I see it.

its more than just one recruit...Martin could easily follow...and SWO, because of Kerry Coombs, could become a serious battle ground for OSU...Kerry Coombs means that much to h.s. football here in Cincinnati...and this was NOT a hire to get Gene...this was a hire of great person and a great football coach who already has five players on UC's current roster.
Know what you're talking about before you start spewing.

Obviously this does suck but I wholeheartidly agree with StadiumDorm, if they don't want to be Bucks that's fine and I wish them the best luck at wherever they decide to go to.

True that H&G. This is a serious get for the UC program. Coombs is highly respected in CinciTucky, with very good reason.

I just have to hope that the picture you paint of a potential decommit by Clifford is not one that comes about. No matter what, Coombs will provide very serious competition for talent in SW Ohio.

I guessed you missed when I said that Ohio State football will go on. Ohio State loses bigtime recruits every years, from decommits to grades, and yet they still seem to have a strong program.

At any rate, Cincinnati has never been a strong recruiting ground for OSU. So even if recruits in the south are wholesale able to ignore OSU's NFL track record, it's not the end of the world

Your Honor,

I'm not going to get into it on here and I'm sure you'll quickly come to Eugene's defense, but I'm sure you've read the Yappi thread concerning Eugene. From what I've heard from trustworthy people, Eugene might have other things to worry about outside of playing big time college football in the future.

I apologize to all if I come across as bitter today...it has been a rough 48 hours...

No Buckeye football...My alma mater gets crushed by another team that I have tremendous love for...and the head coach at my high school just quit, which will end Colerain's run in Cincinnati and now there will be nobody to challenge the GCL...man, I need a drink.

:(
