TIM WALTON CONTINUES IMPRESSIVE STREAK OF LANDING HIGHLY TOUTED CORNERBACK PROSPECTS WITH COMMITMENT OF DEVIN SANCHEZ

It's no secret Brian Hartline has developed a reputation nationally as one of the country's best recruiters.

But secondary coach Tim Walton is quickly stacking up a pile of impressive recruiting wins himself.
By landing the commitment of five-star cornerback Devin Sanchez, the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 2-rated cornerback in 2025 per 247Sports' composite rankings, Walton has landed two top-10 cornerbacks in three straight recruiting cycles.
The six top-10 cornerbacks Walton has landed over the past three years with their overall and positional composite rankings:
  • Four-star 2023 cornerback Jermaine Mathews, No. 51 overall and No. 6 cornerback
  • Four-star 2023 cornerback Calvin Simpson Hunt, No. 62 overall and No. 8 cornerback
  • Five-star 2024 cornerback Aaron Scott, No. 34 overall and No. 2 cornerback
  • Four-star 2024 cornerback Bryce West, No. 58 overall and No. 4 cornerback
  • Five-star 2025 cornerback Devin Sanchez, No. 6 overall and No. 2 cornerback
  • Four-star 2025 cornerback Blake Woodby, No. 76 overall and No. 10 cornerback
Walton could still feasibly land the No. 1 cornerback in the 2025 class in five-star prospect Na'eem Offord. OSU is also in heavy pursuit of five-star prospect Dorian Brew, the fourth-ranked cornerback in the 2025 class.

Our CB room is going to be ridiculous...plus they'll be going against the best WR room in the nation. Steel sharpens steel and what not.

Hopefully he takes the roll of 'recruit recruiter' (someone will have to make up a cooler (more cool) moniker). Ultimately believe that helps promote the family atomosphere that the Buckeyes seem to exude. Go Bucks and future Bucks!
