DB Devin Sanchez (Official Thread)

Scott & West and then Sanchez & Brew? That would be up there with our WR hauls.
Not only is it a talent overload, but under that scenario the three CBs we got in '24 and the three CBs in '25 would consist of two outside CBs and a slot in each. In '24 you have Scott and West on the outside with Lockhart in the nickel slot (Day said that would be the case in his presser), and in '25 I would see Brew and Sanchez on the outside with Woodby in the slot.

Pretty ideal, let's hope that plays out but it is looking likely. And that's not even touching on what looks to be a promising safety class.
I honestly don’t see Brew as a CB…
He has written Sonny Styles 2.0 written all over him, imo

It's possible, but he's less stiff in the hips to me. He's looking like an ideal modern day zone CB.
He's currently 6'2 200 as a HS junior. Not sure how you keep his weight down from not hitting close to 210-215 by the time he hits college(which is the same weight that Styles was a frosh). I just think he outgrows CB.

Don't believe those measurements - I've seen 6'1 and 6'2, 185 and 200...like most men and their measurements, bet the under. If he was measured in, I'd think he'd be lucky to be 6'1 and 185. Boundary corners are getting bigger and bigger - look at Gardener, Woolen, etc. Look at the 2024 CBs coming out, they are almost all 6' to 6'2. If he has the hips, he'll be able to stick imo.

I hope you're right, and I'm wrong. Because I'd love for the CBs to be Sanchez and Brew in '25. But for some reason I feel like Brew will out grow position. But it's a great spot to be in regardless

Well either way, we have Brew on the team...heck, he can be a great WR. But he's a phenomenal player we want on the team. We'll figure out specifics later.

Any news on this one? Sounds like good news for the good guys, but I have no insider knowledge.

Five-star cornerback Devin Sanchez, the nation’s No. 2 cornerback per 247Sports’ composite rankings, will commit during the All-American Bowl broadcast, which begins at 1 p.m. Saturday on NBC. Sanchez is down to three finalists: Ohio State, Alabama and Texas A&M.

The Buckeyes are in the pole position to land his commitment less than 24 hours before the Texas product’s decision. Should Sanchez commit to OSU, the Buckeyes would be off to a terrific start to their secondary recruiting for the 2025 season, with a pair of top-100 overall prospects committed in Sanchez and cornerback Blake Woodby.

Ohio State fans have more reasons to tune into Saturday’s broadcast than just the decisions of Sanchez and Burgess. Five 2024 OSU signees will play in the game for the East team: Five-star wideout Jeremiah Smith, five-star defensive end Eddrick Houston, four-star linebacker Garrett Stover, four-star offensive tackle Ian Moore and four-star running back James Peoples.

Following the game, all five of those prospects will head to Columbus to begin their collegiate careers and enroll early for their first semester of college.
