I’m typically hesitant to think true freshmen will get meaningful PT but Sanchez is a top tier elite talent that I feel could truly force his way onto the field. Whether that’s slot, some combo of slot and boundary — or what. If he’s consistent in fall camp I’d subscribe to the notion that Lorenzo Styles has a really short leash - which is why I feel like he ultimately ends up at safety anyway to get the best corners on the field but I’m getting ahead of myself and making stupid assumptions because it’s May.

Ohio State star freshman may already be making enemies with the Oregon Ducks thanks to a subtle jab​

ne Ohio State newcomer — a five-star recruit with the potential to make an early impact — is already stirring the pot with Oregon fans.

Freshman cornerback Devin Sanchez responded to a Ducks fan on X (formerly Twitter), saying he never considered Oregon, but if he had, he would have started right away.

“Oregon was never a school I looked at, wasn’t even in my top three. I wouldn’t have to compete — the spot would be mine from the jump.”

That comment likely won’t sit well with Oregon players, who would strongly disagree with the notion that Sanchez could walk in and take a starting spot without competition. Sanchez was ranked the No. 1 cornerback in the class of 2025, and the Buckeyes were able to land him out of Texas.
