The fact the winner of the Daytona 500 (JJ) has to answer a good amount of questions about the 8th-place finisher is ridiculous.

If it were Tiger Woods and he's bringing in a ton more money into the series, then it's fine. I think NASCAR would be fine with or without her.

I hope the constant questions don't continue for the winner (i.e. You won, can you comment on Danica's 15th place finish).

#NASCAR … Top 5 cities for Daytona 500 ratings: 1. Greensboro, NC; 2. Indianapolis; 3. Charlotte; 4. Jacksonville, Fla; 5. Dayton, Ohio.

Didn't know that many people in Dayton could still afford TVs :paranoid:

If Dayton was the 5th best city for ratings, the Daytona ratings fucking sucked.

Arrived with a theory (at work) today.

Remember that SPEED show "Seat Swap" with Tony Stewart and Lewis Hamilton?

I'm thinkin (F1 Driver) Lewis Hamilton would have more or similar success in the Cup Series as Danica.

If someone recorded the race yesterday, (and has the time/interest in doing so), I would be very curious to know what the time splits were of live racing action to commercial time. I tuned in fairly early in the race (25-30 laps in), watched 3-5 minutes of commercials with that picture-in-picture feature, then 5 laps of green flag racing, then 5 minutes of full-screen commercials.

It was at that time I decided I would rather watch Notre Dame demolish UC on CBS.....

I wonder why NASCAR is loosing fans????

Like it or not, that's the Danica effect. But I bet NASCAR, its sponsors, the other drivers, and the tracks (you know, the people making money) appreciate it.

People can get offended all they want about it, but she's not like anybody else out there. Just like Junior, her fame far exceeds her talent. And the only people that seem to be upset are people that were/are going to watch anyway.

ya it was single file the whole race, unless a caution. plate tracks have lost my interest. This Danica hype is destroying my Nascar fanhood.

They were saying all week that the track was going to encourage single file racing. I've never been a fan of restrictor plate racing because I think it devalues the first 3/4 of the race, but one of the few benefits was the late-race excitement provided by double and triple wide racing.

Not that I watched anyway. As soon as Smoke was gone, so was I.
