crowd at the shoe, 9/10

Hopefully by the middle of the fourth quarter, we'll be able to hear the "over-rated! over-rated!" chant from the OSU crowd.
Why would you guys be so hard on your own team? It will still be early in the season, and I think that you guys will still be able to turn out a decent season.

In all seriousness, the build up and the wait for this game is almost unbearable. I don't think that I have been this excited for a regular season game in any sport in my entire life. When I first started school at UT I had the opportunity to watch Notre Dame come to Texas and that was very exciting, but UT did not have the program then that it has now.

The whole night game on ABC is going to only add to the excitement. Now if I can only find a ticket for a reasonable price, right.

no offense but at this stage i hate texas more so than michigan
I don't know if I'd go that far, but UT is definitely up there on my hatred list as well. I'm sick and tired of seeing VY on tv and everyone talking about he's going to lead them to the NC. Get that garbage outta here.

As for attendance, I'd be shocked if we don't clear 105. The last night game against Washington, I was there and I think I remember the attendance being announced at 102+. Granted, UW was also a top 25 team at the time, but attendance should even be higher here b/c it'll be 2 top 10 teams and people have been talking about this game since last season ended.

As for people selling their tickets (which I can't really understand in the first place, as I wouldn't sell mine), I wish they would be sure to sell them to a Bucks' fan, as the last thing we want is to increase the number of people in the Shoe cheering for UT--I want VY to wonder what he got himself into everytime he stands under center.

A group of us have an opp to buy 12 tix for $4500...$375 a piece>>>OUCH!

I think game day will be 5hundo or more?

It's like going "all in" now or slow-playing until gameday...choices, choices

If you're hellbent on going, I think I would buy them now. I cannot see these ticket prices going down as the game approaches. Everyone is pretty pumped now, and practice just started. What do you think it's gonna be like once the Miami game is here? I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them at $500 or more.

If we buy right now 6 pairs of 2
After Sept 1, 3 sets of 4

Got one other freebee in the mix, but there is no way I can watch this one on TV.

I'm definitely a huge asset while on Dfense
They should put me on the depth chart

I've got no complaint against the UT fans that have posted here either (besides their allegiance to Mack, that is :wink2: ). Rather, I despise all things that seem overrated:

1) UT football and VY in particular
2) Iowa's entire program, specifically Drew Tate
3) the Pac-10
4) Carmelo Anthony

how can Drew Tate possibly be overrated??? the guy had all the benefits of the #116 ranked rushing attack in the country last year, and all he did was ride the coattails of that potent attack to a ten win season... it's not like he had to pass the ball or anything... :roll1:

20 TD and 14 INT doesn't cut it for preseason all-Big Ten first team QB in my book. Besides, name one good win that Iowa had that wasn't in their backyard and wasn't against a team that was on the ropes when the game was played. Especially considering the fact that they lost their entire defensive line, having them in the top 10 in the preseason polls is a ridiculous joke. I'll be proven correct (regarding Iowa and Tate) in late September.

He did all this without a running game,

He did all this without a running game,

and because it appears you didn't get it the 1st 2 times

He did ALL this without a running game.

Tate is to Iowa what Flutie used to be for BC -- A Very Dangerous Young Man.

Got it, fella. All I have to say is we'll see.
Ya know what, retorts like that earn green chiclets in my book.

Looks like you might need 'em right now.:tongue2:

Add Florida and Tennecheat to that list and you've got the Buckeye fans anti-perfecta. (Florida because their fans are also assholes).

For those of you that haven't been to a night game, they're so much more intense and loud than a normal game, there's really no comparison. I'd say the first and second loudest games I've been to were Northwestern @ Ohio State in 2001 and Washington @ Ohio State in 2003. The Michigan game in 2002 is a close 3rd, but the night games are just out of control. Specifically in the Washington game, there was an eruption of volume from the crowd when little known Nate Salley BLASTED a Washington receiver (I want to say Charles Frederick). The 2001 Northwestern game was extra loud because Tressel challenged the fans to back this young Buckeye team that he was coaching, and be as loud as a stadium of 105,000 should be. I don't think any true Buckeye fans left with their voice that night, as the fans willed an unranked Buckeye team to a victory over #14 Northwestern. The Wildcats never recovered from the beating they took from the Buckeyes, finishing the year below .500. I

I think that this Texas game will eclipse both of those night games, and be one of (if not the) loudest games in Ohio State history. Just imagine what the crowd will do when Vince Young scrambles for 5 yards before being POPPED by AJ Hawk. How loud will it get when Donte Whitner comes free on 3rd and long and drops VY for a loss? How about when TG jukes past a pair of defenders and outraces the others for a long touchdown? This is going to be an experience, and anyone who passed on student tickets for this game made a grave mistake.
