I don't see why people get on here and start threads about embarrasing situations like this or when iambrutus posted about getting stood up by his friends.

I don't get it.

I don't find it embarasing. I use it as a tool for a learning experience for the rest of you guys. Learn from my mistakes......ok that was total bull shit

I found all the parts for the bike for around $700 to be put back together. It's mostly cosmetic stuff. But I think I'm going to claim it on my insurance it's only a $250 deductable. I figure it's going up anyways so use while I"m paying for it.

$185 to get my car out of the impound....:smash:

You'd think he would've learned from me and the other friends of ours that have had DUI's. The real dumb ass move that he made was taking the Breathalyzer. Everyone knows that you aren't supposed to blow (unless you're Thump or Peach  ). Now he's more than likely gonna have to do 3 days jail, 3 days Maryhaven, a couple months of AA meetings, and spend about 2 grand on all of the fines.

I feel bad for ya bro... I really do

If I were you, I would not claim it on my insurance. Your rates will not go up until the insurance company finds out about the OMVI. They will only find it if they run a check on you. If you make a claim they will check. When I got mine, my insurance company never found out. It has been over 5 years and they never found it (I never had any other tickets or anything reported to them) I am not saying they will not find out, but if your record is otherwise clear, they usually do not look unless they are promted to by a claim, or a credit check. Also do not shop for other insurance, that will cause it to come up as well.

Good call. I'll see what happens. BUt I turn 25 in a little over a month and I'm assuming they'll look into it anyways for what they think will be a rate decrease

Well, from what I've been told, not reporting it to your insurance agent will get you dropped like a hot rock if/when they do find out. (Supposedly, if you self-report it, they will "work with you".)

Anyone know this for sure?

An agent actually working with an insured? It'll be up to the underwriter who will send your rates through the roof or most likely drop you altogether. Your best hope is that you have a spotless driving and claims history, write all of your coverages with that agency and that particular company, and those policies generating a very healthy premium for the company. Eh, but my best guess is if you're with a reputable company, you're probably history.
