TOUGH GUY WANNA BE WHO NEEDS A LIFE! TAKE YOUR PICK!
For Christ's sake Chief, will you drop the "tough guy" shit??? Everytime someone on the board disagrees with you or slams ND you get pissed off and roll out the "tough guy" line. It's getting old, it's getting stale and it's ignorant.....so lose it.

You come to an Ohio State board and expect to get sympathy and understanding because your a ND chump, er ah, supporter? This is not a ND board so quit expecting to have people here swoon over the domers. If you don't want to read posts of your boys getting slammed then you need to find another home.

So I guess it's okay to be an average college team as long as you have a tough schedule, right?

Some teams manage to play just as tough schedules and don't find it acceptable to ever lose.

When ND goes 9-3, and loses by a couple points to USC, Tenn and Mich...THEN come crying to us if you get left out of the top 25. When you get beat by BYU, Pitt and Oregon State you don't get to make the "Tough Schedule" argument. If you are that good, WIN THE GAMES YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO.

...and don't come back at me with the argument that OSU lost some we should've won last year...because I don't make excuses for bad play.

Not one BIG 10 team had a tougher schedule than ND last year ! NOT ONE! Actually the average BIG10 schedule was in the 30's. Funny you guys played such a pathetic OOC for so long you actually had a thread bragging that you were finally playing teams like Miami and such....

27 Yeah the SEC is tough but yet again ND did beat big bad TENN. Cowherd hates ND so hey....

The ***** thing was probably a little on the strong side I should have said haha Bobby Brady's girlfriend..............

"All I've heard this week is Ohio State. Did they invent this game? Why isn't anyone talking about my team." Lou Holtz, Friday afternoon before the Ohio State game.

That sound bite, faithfully recorded by ND's hired gun, Bob Trumpy, is why people like me get on sites like this to bitch about the Irish. Was Lou peeved because he was the underdog, or was he taking the position that, "We're Notre Dame by God, and the press better sit up and pay attention?"

I think the later.

gaaaawdd ND tried to join the BIG 10 years ago but was turned down!!
Now with the contract it would be just plain stupid!! Although the schedule would be easier............

ALRIGHT WHO WAS THE PUSSY WHO CHANGED MY SIGNATURE!

Bullshit!!! Notre Dame is the one that turned down the offer to join, not the other way around. Get your facts straight.

By the way, I'm the pussy who changed your signature...took you long enough to notice.

MILI - I knew you were the pussy! LOL!

You had better get your facts straight because years ago before the recent offer ND did ask and was turned down. You are correct the last go round ND did say no but why should they now?? Contract$$$$

Skins- The tough guy thing was an old old joke between Mili and I as his chimp stuff.......

Tell me when they were offered and turned the conference down. All I know is that they backed down after we blasted their ass twice, and also that ND turned down an offer of another home/away series for 2000/2001.

Yes, youre TOTALLY right, weve only now started playing strong OOC games. Of course we have our cupcakes, but you can see that just about yearly, there is a pretty good good one. Heres a look at our OOC's since 1980:

80 - Syracuse, Arizona St., UCLA
81 - Duke, Stanford, Florida St.
82 - Baylor, Stanford, Florida St.
83 - Oregon, Oklahoma (played 9 B10's instead of 8)
84 - Oregon St., Washington St. (9 B10s instead of 8)
85 - Pitt, Colorado, Washington St.
86 - Alabama, Washington, Colorado, Utah
87 - West Va., Oregon, LSU
88 - Syracuse, Pitt, LSU
89 - Ok St., USC, BC
90 - Texas Tech, BC, USC
91 - Arizona, Louisville, Washington St.
92 - Louisville, Bowling Green, Syracuse
93 - Rice, Washington, Pitt
94 - Fresno St., Washington, Pitt, Houston
95 - BC, Washington, Pitt, ND
96 - Rice, Pitt, ND
97 - Wyoming, Bowling Green, Arizona, Mizz
98 - West Va., Toledo, Mizz,
99 - Miami FL., UCLA, Ohio, Cincy
00 - Fresno St., Arizona, Miami OH.
01 - Akron, UCLA, SDSU
*02 - Texas Tech, Kent St., Washington St. (top 10), Cincy, SJSU
03 - Washington, SDSU, NC St., Bowling Green
04 - Cincy, Marshall, NC St.

Comming Up:
05 - Miami OH., Texas, SDSU
06 - NIU, Texas, Cincy
07 - Syracuse
08 - USC
09 - USC
10 - Syracuse, Miami FL.
11 - Miami FL.
--------------------------------------

Now, if I have done my Math correctly, that means we are 68-12-1 (85%?)out of 81 OOC games since 1980. Thats not too bad coindisering most looses came through the 80s (20-8-1), while we were solid in the 90s (31-3) and 00s (17-1).

ND turned it down (from what I have heard) because the powers to be were spit on at OSU !! You dont stop playing OSU because they beat you only to turn around and play a team that had dominated OSU if you were as you keep saying "scared'!! If your point had any validation ND would have stopped playing Michigan as well!!

If I remember correctly it was the early 70's when ND was turmed down but the fact is it happened.....

You had been playing Michigan for years and years before playing us in that two-game series...in fact, you had played Michigan every year from 1978 to 1994 except for 1982 and 1983 (15 out of 17 seasons) before playing us in 1995 and 1996, so spare us the "only to turn around and play a team that had dominated OSU" crap. You were 8-6-1 against Michigan from 1978 to 1994 but got pummeled by us, so it stood to reason that you would choose to continue playing a team against whom you were reasonably successful rather than a team that just kicked your ass the only two times you played them.

You say "if you remember correctly" ND was turned down over 30 years ago, but still say it's a "fact" than it happened...how convenient.
