Cotton Bowl: Ole Miss 47, Texas Tech 34 (Final)

I mock the "SEC!" chant because it's a by product of the internet generation.

Hell, we did that before the interwebbs...

Again, we've beaten this to death. It is one of those things that I love about college football..the different traditions and ways of looking at things that are different from conference to conference.

I am half thinking about going to the Sugar tonight, if I can get a cheap ticket a few minutes after kick off...if not, I'll drive the ten minutes back home and watch in on the screen and drink cheaper.

By then Bama should be up 21-0.

Would you not laugh if the ACC chanted their conference letters after mediocre wins?

I admit it sounds better when you're 4-1 than 1-4 (or 4-6 in the ACC's case)....but again, we do not do it based upon some analysis of the mediocrity of an opponent. If the Wildcats manage to beat ECU, or Ole Miss beat Tech, it is a fellow SEC School, and I have and feel a kinship and identity with those other SEC teams. Again, this is not a topic where I expect you to agree, not will you change my mind, but that is how we feel generally, and I am proud of my conference in virtually all situtations.

Alabama will likely make it 5-2, assuming Kentucky loses.

Sorry, but if you chant a conference during a football game, you're a grade A loser. No amount of reply's on another teams message board will change that.

I will certainly consider the source Quinnzy.

Actually, I hope to be chanting that very cheer when I join a large number of other grade A Losers at the National Championship Game.

It's on TV, so you can see it buddy. :tongue2:

Funny thing, I don't remember too many SEC fans chanting that shit Pre-2006...

hmm...

This only shows that you are not familiar with the SEC and its traditions, which is understandable. I am growing more familiar with yours only the last few years, even though I've seen you on tv numerous times.

That's not an answer. Would you laugh?

Wow, I don't see why people are all upset, the SEC fans have conference pride and still heated rivalries. Hell, if the Big10 was going through this year with 1 bowl loss I would be screaming all around the office. Instead, I live in Pac10 land where I get told the Big10 should consider a drop down to 1-AA :sad2:

Back at the office filled with smacktalk, sure. But right after OSU won a big game or NC, would you be celebrating how awesome Michigan was too?

Anyone who ever says a QB's 40 time isn't important needs to watch a replay of Harrell's half-hour long run to the 3 yard line. If he was even a sub-5.0 runner he'd have scored. Christ, even I could've ran faster than that. Now we know why "mobile QB" and "Caucasian" should never be in the same sentence...unless the word "not" is included.

 damn, i need to spread rep around.
