I went to the store today and took note of two things:

First, many aisles are still empty, which tells me that the supply chains are not up to the task or things are being held back (horded?) up-chain.

Second, I could buy many items (canned soups, meats, fruits and vegetables, jars of peanut butter and applesauce, and bags of rice and beans) that logically people should have bought out if they knew what they were doing while things like fresh chicken, beef and toilet paper are gone. I spent about $50 for tens of thousands of calories that won't go bad even if the electrical grid goes down.

Yeah, that's the fucked up part... and our grocery store was basically looted of beef, chicken (obviously TP) and canned vegetables... there was still plenty of food there... like tons, it just was shit you'd actually have to, you know, cook. People aren't hording just to horde. They are hording stuff they are familiar with. Plenty of usda prime strip at Costco this morning

I'm guessing that military members might have a bit more education on what to buy and what not to buy. The average Lincoln Park, Ranger Rover baby mama? Not so much.

Wow, even the Youngstown area crowd knew to grab the canned goods. All kinds of fresh meat available but Chef-Boyardee, Progresso, and Campbell's are sold out. Can't even find a box of spaghetti.
