I think I may be the problem here:

https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/...=AUS~ZAF~OWID_WRL~USA~GBR~DEU~FRA~IRN~NLD~KOR

I just selected some countries, you can add others and look at deaths as well on a population-adjusted basis. It also is possible to look at testing on a population-adjusted basis. The US has tested more than other countries, but it is really not substantially more than several other countries.

South Africa is intentionally growing now, with a peak scheduled for the second week of August. The growth is within the range of the models, but a bit high. There is talk of renewed restrictions in Johannesburg, but we will see.

So, the US and South Africa appear to be the problem. My bad.

EDIT. Here's a barchart for testing per 1,000 people. Apparently, Iceland kicked everyone's arse on this one.

Hell has come to those high population states. The hospitals will get overrun like New York city and people will die because they can't get treatment. It will be apocalyptic in some cities.
C'mon Taos. NYC's hospitals never were over run. They never used the Javits Center or the USNS Comfort. They didn't use a fifth of the ventilators they thought they needed. Cuomo sent sick people back to nursing homes and thousands died.

Australia is getting ready to go into lockdown, Spain is a freaking train wreck. Sweden has it problems. Watch a different channel other than CNN. We are not much different than anywhere else for the most part, depending on weather etc. We are testing at a higher rate regardless of what the left wants you to believe. More tests equal more cases. Pretty simple. I could have driven twenty minutes to get tested at no less than 10 locations despite the left screaming "we need more testing".

My antibody test came back negative today. Nasal swab will be back tomorrow.
Of course it's CNN and "the left"'s fault.

Not to say that only one side is lacking context, either. Maybe the graphs I'm seeing are showing high numbers because we're just bigger than (random country generator) Japan. Duh....we're going to have a lot more cases than a tiny country.
As long as you focus on percentages rather than raw numbers, you get a better picture. Buttfuckistan may have only 100,000 people infected, but if they have only a population of 1,000,000, that's 10%, whereas the US has well over three times as many cases but has less than a 1% rate because of its population of 330,000,000.

I don't think @Hstead is saying CNN and the left is to blame for the problems in Australia, Spain, etc., but rather for the misinformation being put out.
Assuming it's misinformation...

To say we're doing even an OK job as a country is laughable. Maybe when football season comes around we'll all be distracted enough to.....oh, wait.
