So what are you going to do as the Gov? No rational human is going to voluntarily go broke because you are asking them to forgo their ability to live (pay rent, buy food etc), not just cut back on extreme wealth in this case.

No, at this level of escalation you are going to have to make them and before you go doing that, in this country, you better be damn sure about what you are asking and there is no way they can be damn sure to the point of rolling in the national guard and enforcing a lock down.

I can see both sides to some degree and this could become a damn hairy situation very quick.

Like I was saying... China only got a handle on it when they went Authoritarian with a population used to bending over.
South Korea and Japan could have been a model, with aggressive testing and the kind of distancing we're starting to see now ... but that ship has sailed. Time waits for no Congress.

In related situation,
University of Dayton sent riot police to break up students after classes were cancelled and informed they had just 24 hours to leave the dorms.

Maybe one thing that can come of this whole mess is for us to see, as a nation, how dependent we have become on Government and at the same time just how dangerous that can become when we see just how close to the Chinese we really are in terms of freedom from that Government.

You have to pay a price either way. I, personally, would rather be free.

I, personally, would rather have Single Payer than need Congress to hand out "free" tests - the treatment for which will be mandated at the point of a gun and lead to bankruptcy.

But, hey, I'm a crazy "socialist" for knowing efficient quality Healthcare doesn't include a middle man price gouging Human Life.

So if that guy is right and the Chinese way is the only effective solution then all this stuff we are doing is a waste and the entire western world is likely fucked because the "fever centers" that aren't concentration camps thing just isn't going to work.

Maybe I missed something?

well Self quarantine at home isn’t gonna help, the lack of testing isn’t gonna help... so until they get the testing unfucked we’re looking at a long drawn out problem. Also they are now fever testing people who come in contact with POTUS or VPOTUS... a little late..

I want to like ebooks but i like holding a book i’ve had a kindle and others just doesn’t do it well enough for me... but will work in a pinch
