Jesus. Waiting to see what the science says doesn't require eating crow. It's what you're supposed to do.True dat. It would suck, though, to see that the script calls for it to be taken with food... a plate of crow.

Yeah...should have used an essential oil.
And I was trying not to be political hereHe's a fucking idiot, that's where.
It’s as if your ego needs to turn this into a competition where people are hoping things don’t help. Saying we don’t know it works doesn’t mean we hope it doesn’t.
And I was trying not to be political here
The name "chloroquine" resonated with the man's wife, who asked that her name not be used to protect the family's privacy. She'd used it previously to treat her koi fish.
"I saw it sitting on the back shelf and thought, 'hey, isn't that the stuff they’re talking about on TV?'"
The couple — both in their 60s and potentially at higher risk for complications of the virus — decided to mix a small amount of the substance with a liquid and drink it as a way to prevent the coronavirus.

I’ll just say I am taking my guidance from Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx, and a series of healthcare and scientific professionals that I trust. My skepticism is no greater than theirs. That we can agree on.
And don’t mistake my distain for bureaucracy and hyper-partisanship for ego. Not accusing you of either, but your position and willingness to aggressively jump the counter point is as inseparable from them as your assumption that my position is ego based.

Don’t take anything with “phosphate” at the endWhat does your aquarium supply clerk say on the matter?

We should have some data from Wuhan about the Gilead drug in April. I don’t know all of the parameters of the ongoing worldwide studies, but I imagine we will be seeing some data within a month or so. Trusting physicians just because they are willing to script off label is...tenuous at best. We don’t need FDA approval to repurpose drugs in a pandemic, but it would be nice to see some controlled studies that actually show some positive primary outcomes. That’s completely fair. And it’s their job to first do no harm and follow a protocol. I don’t fault them, nor do I disagree with you or protocol. Under normal circumstances I don’t know that I’d disagree in the least... This is not a normal circumstance.
That said, I also know that while in grad school, I knew well before the experiments were over which manipulations were going to successful. So, in essence, anecdotal evidence. And it’s anecdotal evidence that generate a lot of hypotheses.
While I’m clearly not in the trenches here, even with a skeptical view, there’s some
smoke here that is worth kindling... especially in light of the current circumstances.
Given the circumstances, I think that testing is being handled as aggressively as it can... and a seemingly liberal willingness to script off-label. That’s about as good as it’s going to get until some of the early round testing is complete.
