If it doesn’t work, why would I take it? Anecdotal evidence is not scientific evidence. It’s not that it won’t work. But we don’t know that yet. Those drugs can have serious side effects too...they’re not things you take like aspirin.

You do know that the side effects have been known for like 40+ years, right? And that there’s more than just a couple of instances of anecdotal evidence, right? And that there are a few, albeit small, in field tests showing success, right? And that there has been lab testing (tubes and dishes, yes) that provide ample evidence to suggest that there is good probability that this will reduce duration and has the potential to be used as a preventative measure until a true vaccine is developed, right?

Sure, feel free to pass... I get it. That said, if I got this thing... or anyone in my family, I’d be on this like white on rice.

I’m not a betting man, but my money is on you asking for this shit if you’re in a hospital bed over you passing.

Well if you’re the scientific expert on it, when can we expect your press conference?

And while you’re at it, why not tell us the current state of remdesivir? What are the relevant primary and secondary clinical outcomes? Why has Gilead pulled the plug on its emergency access program? What is the relevant primary literature?

I never said that, and you if you bother to read my earlier posts, I said that I am taking the results with a grain of salt because of the source biases.

But sure, feel free to be a skeptic... I’m going to be cautiously optimistic.
Do you not think it is reckless for non-medical professionals (politicians, media) to be touting this as some miracle drug? Of course people will self administer.

And your point is? I’m clearly aware that this is being tested off label.

If you’re going to ask me what my point is, it’s that if we’re desperate enough to fuck over the economy for your grandma’s remaining 10 years on this planet, and there’s people who are willing to have this administered off label in and attempt to save their lives and perhaps build enough evidence outside the FDA to have confidence in the treatment, then let ‘em.

But if you bitch about it, be sure to be last in line if it works.
