We should have some data from Wuhan about the Gilead drug in April. I don’t know all of the parameters of the ongoing worldwide studies, but I imagine we will be seeing some data within a month or so. Trusting physicians just because they are willing to script off label is...tenuous at best. We don’t need FDA approval to repurpose drugs in a pandemic, but it would be nice to see some controlled studies that actually show some positive primary outcomes.
It's one thing to say that it's safe to repurpose a drug which is already approved by the FDA, but it's an entirely different thing to assume that it will be effective at (presumably) exactly the same dosage. What I gather is that some people who are "hacking" around with these drugs which are already approved by the FDA are not really following the established dosage guidelines.

I read a compilation of early testing results sometime last week. I’m not sure where I found the link and if I find it again I’ll post.

Other than soylent green I might add (from an entirely selfish perspective ).
soylent green made from old people? what are you? poor?

the only soylent green i buy is 100% sourced from organic, free-range, grass-fed newborn babies from new zealand. it's a little expensive, but my health is too important than to risk it on some shake made from liver spots and goiters.

Yeah but the livers of us old drunks makes good foie gras (or so I'm told).
