Conference Re-Draft Project

By the way, I think the next time someone does a conference re-draft project that it could be an auction draft.

All the conference commissioners get $100 to bid (silent or public) on universities as they come up for nomination. And there can be an auction.

Example: Ohio State comes up for nomination.

Commish #1 silently bids $30 on them
Commish 2 bids $25
Commish 3 bids $0

So Commish 1 gets Ohio State. Then Michigan comes up for nomination and Commish 1 could again go after Michigan so that they could pair up together, but they only have $70 to work with.

Sorry for the delay, it wasn't for drama, my internet at work was down.

My final choice is Villanova.

My conference choices were based on trying to first be balanced in the 3 major sports in the college ranks. Football, Mens and Womens basketball. Next I looked at education and alternate sports. If a school had a good average in the top 3 sports and was solid in education, I targeted them but it was hard to do that as many of my teams got picked while I waited.

I would have one more year with 11 in football with a Big Ten style schedule, then 2-6 team divisions next year to match the basketball breakdowns.

East-
Ohio State
Tennessee

Villanova
Uconn

Maryland
Virginia Tech

West-
Oklahoma
LSU

Kansas State
Oregon State

Illinois
Northwestern

Stacked to show rivalry in division.

Cross division rivals.
Ohio State/Oklahoma
Tennessee/ Oregon State
Virginia Tech/LSU
Uconn/ Illinois
Maryland/ Kansas State
Villanova/Northwestern

I had 2 colleges that I really wanted as the picks went along and they got picked. Wisconsin and Baylor. Got stuck with Oregon State kind of sitting out in the middle of nowhere. Geographically I tried to stay from the mountains east.

Why not.

#23 Texas 2-0
#2 Alabama 2-0
#11 Nebraska 2-0
Miami 0-1
Washington 2-0
GTech 2-0
Iowa 1-1
Syracuse 2-0
Boston College 0-2
Navy 2-0
Ole Miss 1-1

So, I think that's 16-6. I anticipate a season of ass whoopin for BC and the Black Knights, unfortunately.

I suppose The only Notable win is Alabama over Penn State.

I will mention that we're 1-1 against BYU with a 1 point loss (Ole Miss) and a one point win (Tejas)

An incredibly mediocre season. We are limited by USC's inability to compete in the postseason. 2012 will be our year!

A better season according to Sagarin's Predictor Ratings:

(10) USC, (11) Texas A&M, (12) Missouri, (20) Florida State, (27) California, (29) Utah, (43) Rutgers, (53) Arizona, (59) Louisville, (76) Virginia, (77) Wake Forest, (109) Kansas

Average rating: 43
Median: 35

Conference SmoovP has had a pretty good year so far.

Coming into the last week of the season, here's how we stand -

#3 Oklahoma State @ 10-1 (1 regular season game v. Oklahoma <tossup> + possible BCS bowl game - Fiesta)

#4 Stanford @ 11-1 (Probable BCS bowl game - Fiesta)

#7 Boise State @ 10-1 (1 regular season game v. New Mexico <win> + bowl game - Las Vegas or Poinsettia)

#8 Arkansas @ 10-2 (Bowl game - Cotton or CapOne)

#9 Oregon @ 10-2 (Conference Championship game v. UCLA <win> + probable BCS bowl game - Rose)

#12 South Carolina @ 10-2 (Bowl Game - Cotton or Outback)

#13 Michigan State @ 10-2 (Conference Championship game v. Wisconsin <lean loss> possible BCS bowl game - Rose or Outback)

#18 TCU @ 9-2 (Bowl Game - Las Vegas or Poinsettia)

North Carolina State @ 9-2 (Bowl Game - Music City or Military)

Vanderbilt 6-6 (Bowl Game - Liberty)

Kentucky @ 5-7 (Done)

UR South Florida @ 5-7 (Done)

103-38 overall = 73%

1 very slight chance to play in the BCS-CG with Oklahoma State

4 teams are still in the running for BCS bowls - Stanford, Oklahoma State, Oregon & Michigan State

7 teams with double digit wins

8 Teams in the BCS top twenty-five, 5 in the top ten

9 teams with only 2 losses

10 bowl eligible teams

Not too shabby.

Mr. Stickball's draft could have 3 teams in BCS games if UGA were to beat LSU tomorrow. That's a good thing.
However - we're also leading all conferences in child molestation with the Penn State addition. That's a bad thing :(

When the whole Sandusky thing went down, that was about the 3rd thing I thought once the dust settled.

My final pre-bowl and CCG tally:

#14 Georgia: 10-2
#15 Wisconsin: 10-2
#17 Baylor: 8-3
#23 West Virginia: 8-3
Penn St.: 9-3
BYU: 8-3
Iowa St.: 6-5
Arizona State: 6-6
Florida: 6-6
Texas Tech: 5-7
Minnesota: 3-9
Indiana: 1-11

Overall: 80-60

But hey, I had 3 teams in the Basketball top-10 last week in Baylor, Wiscy and Florida.
