Conan's improvements to the Winter Olympics were hilarious, as was Kenneth the Page.

No matter how it results, everyone BUT Leno is making out, because the ratings for everyone are pretty high now to see the turns, and Leno looks bad in all lights, especially the one he's always been bad in - trying to be funny

I like that Dave keeps making jokes about how his mother is confused by this whole thing and is now forced to watch his show instead. I take that as a dig at Jay and his audience being comprised mostly of blue hairs and the infirmed

That Afghanistan joke made no sense. I seriously, 100% tried.

Jay Leno has a victim-complex. Conan got 7 months we got 4? What bullshit.

NBC?s Ebersol Defends Leno and Zucker - NYTimes.com

Referring to the pointed jokes made this week by Mr. O?Brien and David Letterman of CBS, Mr. Ebersol said it was ?chicken-hearted and gutless to blame a guy you couldn?t beat in the ratings.?

He added that ?what this is really all about is an astounding failure by Conan.?

Just in case America didn't hate NBC enough already, the suits are on the case.

Mr. Ebersol chided Mr. O?Brien for declining to take advice about how to adjust his show to the 11:35 p.m. slot from the style he had used on NBC?s 12:35 a.m. ?Late Night? show for 16 years.

We'd like to give the show to you, but not the real you, but this made up you who will undoubtedly lose the only established fanbase you have.

Mr. Ebersol said Mr. Leno had not pushed for any of the changes, not the original decision to guarantee Mr. O?Brien the show five years in advance, nor the plan to put Mr. Leno in prime time.

Very believable.

?Jeff and I are big boys,? Mr. Ebersol said, referring to Mr. Zucker. ?When we do something big in the public forum and it doesn?t succeed, we know we?ll be the butt of criticism. But you don?t personally attack someone who hasn?t done anything.? In this case, he added, ?we bet on the wrong guy.?

Shocking. NBC executives failing to see the big picture?

While overnight household ratings showed Mr. Letterman still ahead on Wednesday, Mr. O?Brien is seeing his best numbers there in months. Mr. Letterman had a 3.5 rating Wednesday night in those preliminary numbers, while Mr. O?Brien grew to a 3.0, well up from a recent average of about a 2.2.

Anyone bet Leno checks in in the 2's after this is all done?

Is USA a separate entity that is merely owned by NBC? Seeing ads for Burn Notice, Psych, Monk & the new one (which I haven't watched), it's hard to fathom how they can do so well with that network and so badly with this one.

I'm starting to thiink NBC owns half of cable--they have The Weather Channel, which I loyally watched for almost 20 years, only to de-select it from my remote about a month ago for a multitude of reasons. Now, I'm wondering if the idiot-boy-wonder running/ruining NBC who created the late night mess is also the one responsible for wrecking TWC. Still more reason to despise the twerp.
