Columbus Crew SC (2008, 2020, 2023 MLS Champions)

I decided not to get MatchDay Live - after some further research I found out that while they charge just $20 for live games on the phone, they charge $60 for games on an iPad. Regardless of whether or not there are blackout restrictions, that's too rich for my blood.

I did see in their latest app update that they are bringing condensed games to iOS devices for free, so I'll probably be watching those when I can't watch the game live.

I just hope TimeWarner can bring me. ONN in HD sometime. Watching ONN in SD is absolutely brutal.

Definitely sucks, but I'm glad I'm able to watch Crew games!

Wholeheartedly agree. Especially about watching ONN in SD. You can't even make out their names or numbers on the back of their jersies, let alone their faces. MLS has GOT to do something about getting their games televised better. The product is good, but it's not worth paying PPV money over. Hell, even Versus would be a tremendous step up... and that's really saying something.

I can't remember where the Crew's "pub tour" is going to be tonight, but I had a good time when I attended one at Fado Irish Pub last month. Even won 4 tickets to the Crew/Sporting KC game the following week while I was there. Seeing an away game with your fellow Crew comrades is always a good decision, even when its ONN in SD.

It's a nice atmosphere. I like my home bar when I'm in Columbus: Hudson Street Hooligans.

Columbus signed Aaron Horton on Monday to be the first "Home Grown" player to sign a contract with the Crew, as he is an alumni of the Crew Academy. Played forward for Univ. of Louisville and scored the two most clutch goals in the NCAA tourny last year en route to the NCAA championship game against Akron (I know I talked about him a little bit on here).

In my opinion, a huge get for the future for Columbus. 19 years old with lots of potential. Would have been no less than a 2nd round pick in the SuperDraft next year and Columbus is the team he grew up rooting for. Gotta love this kid.

By all accounts, the Crew Academy has been a raging success and had not started to pay major dividends for the parent club until signing Horton this week. This could be just the tip of the iceberg too. NCAA champ Akron has a ton of Crew Academy alumni and will be receiving some blue chip freshmen this year, at least one of which I know for certain is a Crew Academy alum. And there's quite a few Crew Academy alumni at schools playing Div 1-A soccer currently... a great pool of players to potentially pull from.

My only concern is with Warzycha and his staff's ability to develop that talent. These guys ought to be considered projects when they come in though, so our staff ought to have ample time to develop them, and the reserve league coming back this year will be HUGE for these guys' development.

Thats awesome! Good luck Menardo!

Found a fantastic article about the blue chipper I was thinking about going to Akron from the Crew Academy, Will Trapp. Fingers crossed, hopefully we'll be talking about him being a "Home Grown" Columbus Crew player 12 months from now. #4 played in the HS class of 2011... would be the equivalent of a Rivals 5*... from Gahanna Lincoln.

I wanted to play in the Nordecke Cup with the Crew Supporters Union, but I'm going to be in Boston for a wedding that weekend.

So what is it? A series of games? Because all I know is Yellow Nation Army and La Turbina Amarilla are teaming up, since they're short, and YNA is a small group.
