Columbus Crew SC (2008, 2020, 2023 MLS Champions)

DC ties it up in the 39th minute. This is going to be a battle.

Columbus goes back in front with a SICK goal from Arrieta!

I'm right there with you jlb, it's hard to keep up when I'm flipping between 3 football games and a soccer game.

DC knocks down the game winner in the first minute of stoppage time. Was only a matter of time until they scored given the fact that they pulled off Miranda for Renteria, and brought on Tchani.... :shake: Playoff hopes are about shot.

They are shot, no about, chance or doubt about it.

For some reason, Warzycha got that contract extension last September too. But my own personal house cleaning wouldn't just include him, if the Crew were going to make changes.

If the Crew end up with new ownership next year (the Hunt group wants to sell), I see no way Warzycha sticks around regardless of the extension. He's a piss poor game-manager.

There's been a TON of movement here in the offseason, player-wise. At this point, just 17 players will be returning to the Black and Gold that were on the team last year. I need to get this caught up (unless anyone else would like to update it with what all has happended here in the offseason...), but until I get a little time to do so, the Crew just signed Wil Trapp as a Homegrown player, ala Ben Speas last year. Major signing for a team who was going to be suddenly thin at defensive midfield next year.

To quote the first line of the article:
Without a doubt, Wil Trapp would have been a First Round pick in next month's MLS SuperDraft.

Just got a game worn Justin Meram away kit for Christmas from a good friend from Columbus. Made my day! He may be a former scUM kicker, but he's a member of the Crew now, so all is forgiven... Plus, he played under Rich Rod...

And he just practiced with them early in his career at Michigan. From what I can gather, he never actually played.
