Warzycha said in a chalk talk meeting with the fans the other day that he doesn't play Griffit because "too many backpasses." At least he can pass the ball to the right team, unlike those useless sacks of [censored] Moffat and Burns who he plays every single game. Very tired of him being in charge of the crew.

If that's seriously the reason he doesn't play Griffit, that's crap. He creates. And he created a great opportunity all by himself on his goal against Joe Public last week. There's no reason he, nor many of our younger guys, should be sitting the bench as much as he is. Warzycha will run this team into the ground in the next year if he doesn't start giving the younger guys more meaningful minutes.

I'll echo in agreement on Moffat and Burns, the latter in particular. Burns turns the ball over too many times and can't finish worth a damn. I respect Moffat's hustle and drive, but he doesn't have the ball skills of Griffit, Ekpo, Renteria, or a few other players commonly found on our bench. When we need offense (and we REALLY need it with how they've been playing lately in the offensive third), we're not going to get it from Moffat or Burns.

Crew: Schelotto's play rubbing coach the wrong way

http://www.crewxtra.com/live/conten...play-rubbing-coach-the-wrong-way.html?sid=101

Guillermo Barros Schelotto is one of the most talented players in Major League Soccer.
It is becoming clear, however, that the Crew forward does not fit into his boss's idealized version of the team.
"I would love to have two powerful forwards up front, to be honest," coach Robert Warzycha said. "With (Schelotto), we have to play a certain way."
Schelotto is a small player with vision, but his flair often leads to turnovers. He loses an average of 24.2 balls per 90 minutes, third on the Crew behind midfielders Dilly Duka (28.2) and Robbie Rogers (25.1).
Yet, according to a statistical analysis service, Schelotto creates a team-leading 6.81 shots per game.

This is a joke, Warzycha is looking for a scapegoat for the recent poor form. I'll be perfectly honest I liked the idea of Warzycha as coach before he was given the job. During his interim job before Sigi was hired he took a team full of worthless scraps and turned them into a formidable attacking team. During Sigi's time here when Warzycha coached a couple of times he played a slightly different lineup that flowed a little better than Sigi's and seemed to go for the juglar when posible. I don't know where that guy has gone but the above article shows a pretty weak coach, saying those things in public about your most dynamic player that has put the team on his back time and time again is rediculous. If Schelotto retires this year I'm becoming a proponent of installing him as head coach, he hasn't coached before but his soccer IQ is second to none and he has the mentality I like in a soccer coach.

That article was the last straw for me. Schelotto is a Crew legend. He is untouchable. He brought us our championship, took a pay cut, and at age 37 continues to give his all for us, and has played more minutes than any other field player. The stadium should just be dedicated to become a big monument to him. And this guy thinks that he can hiding his glaring weaknesses as a coach by going to the media and acting like it's some sort of burden to have to put him in the lineup? In all seriousness, he can go to hell for that.

Look at some of the quotes this guy has produced:
"I would love to have two powerful forwards up front, to be honest," coach Robert Warzycha said. "With (Schelotto), we have to play a certain way."
So this fucker is talking about the greatest player in our club's history like a liability, some useless fool he's being forced to trot out there game after game. Unappreciative fucker.

"If he plays well, I don't have a problem putting him on the field," said Warzycha, who was criticized for benching Schelotto during a playoff loss at Real Salt Lake last year. "But for some reason, he can't find the game right now."
Can't find his game right now? He's leading the team in assists and goals? What team has this man been watching?

Warzycha in recent days provided The Dispatch with some rare insight into his approach to tactics and personnel.

"I don't have a style," Warzycha said. "I go from game to game."
WELL NO KIDDING.

Warzycha prefers Eddie Gaven to play on the wing rather than the central midfield. Gaven, who has played well centrally, does not have the defensive "bite" that Adam Moffat provides, Warzycha said.
Moffat's "defensive bite." Hahahahaha.

He also complained about Schelotto's lack of speed, which is pretty ironic considering he sends Lenhart and Garey out there to be outrun my old fat linesmen week in and week out.

These quotes just go to show what a shit coach he is. He admits that we have no clear style, tactics or strategy, which is sort of a bad thing for a team 2/3rds of the way into the season. But what's worse is the way he's using Schelotto. When you have a talent like that, you have to design the team around him. That's what Sigi did so perfectly. So if you're going to give Schelotto more minutes than any other field player, as Warzycha has, then strategize so you can use his strengths. And if you're going to use a "strategy" that he doesn't fit in and you don't want to play him, then don't. Continuing to begrudgingly play him in a system he can't succeed in is just the worst of both worlds.

Fire this numbskull.

So, with the Crew having gained just 2 points in their last 4 MLS games and just fallen out of 1st place in the East, tonight we play @ the Seattle Sounders for the U.S. Open Cup Final. The good news is that our fearless leader has already began making excuses for himself:
"You make it to a final, but you have to go to Seattle on Sunday after playing a home game on Saturday," Crew coach Robert Warzycha said. "You've got to fly all day, play on the (artificial) turf on Tuesday and then you go play an important MLS game in Chicago on Friday. Great."
What a crybaby. Contrast that with the cool professionalism of Guillermo:
"The field is for Seattle," Schelotto said. "The stadium is for Seattle. Everything is for Seattle. But that does not matter. We have the final. We have 90 minutes to win a trophy. Nothing is more important."

I'm thinking a 2-0 loss.

It pains me that I'm gonna miss the first half of this game and maybe the whole thing.

I've got the Crew losing it 2-1 in extra time/penalty kicks. Sigi knows our players, draws up some great gameplans, plays the right players that seem to hit right where we're lacking, and I think luck plays much heavier in their favor, for whatever reason. Simply put, they have our number.

Certainly hope I'm wrong. The Crew players want this one BAD and even saved some players from the San Jose game to play in this one. Here's hoping Seattle goes into this one overconfident at home and the Crew can exact some revenge for that terrible result a couple weeks ago against these guys. Would love to see some more silverware in the trophy case tonight.

I love, love, love Hey-dude. A class act, wonderful guy, and more than serviceable soccer player for many years.

But his tank is empty.

This whole team just looks old. Ekpo is trying to assert himself, but not much going for the Crew. Hopefully they can slip one in late.

I just wrote Mr. McCullers to tell him that I won't be buying playoff tickets this year. Warzycha has led this team into the toilet. Losing to Chicago was a new low for his time in charge.

Losing by 1 is easily made up at home. Just hope they can put forth a better performance. More speed in the back, more control in the front.

Hejduk and Iro really need to step up at home next week. We need 'em to play better than they did tonight.
