I NEED to hear the behind the scenes details on this. Left A TON of money on the table in CGY supposedly to play closer to home in NY/NJ/PHI, then on FA Day 1, CBJ...a franchise that has NEVER attracted bigtime FAs...or even kept their own...swoop in and get him on a pretty damn sweetheart deal.

Devils and Flames both offered more than $10 mill/7 years. Flames were rumored to have offered $12 mill. Nuts. Someone said he left around $15 mill on the table.

I love that the Devils and Islanders have to live with the shame of losing out to the Jackets. Fuck ‘em.
